omega64: Yeah, I do want to watch it eventually. Just so much other stuff to watch.
It was a bit confusing when I was talking about the show with someone.
He'd seen the original and I had read the manga.
We were so confused as we didn't know they were that different.

A 7 is still great. :D
I'm not gonna pretend the show is perfect. :P
Yeah, lots of differences start appearing at like halfway through the show.
Btw the main selling point for me in brotherhood was that King Bradley was awesome, one of the best character designs and story i've ever seen. So if you ever watch it give me a shout who was your favourite :D

Fomalhaut30: The Not-Brotherhood FMA had some hella sad feels in it though that didn't really have the same impact in Brotherhood. Particularly Nina's and Hughes stories.
Yep, Nina's story in brotherhood was contained in only one episode while the non-brotherhood one had 2 or 3 on it i think.
I think at some point makers said that brotherhood assumes you've watched the non-bro version so it doesn't want to repeat itself too much and get to the new part as fast as it can.

omega64: Watching FMA: Brotherhood. Up to eps 10 or so.
HOMUNKURUSU :V

I started watching Ao no Exorcist, 3 episodes in. It is promising so far, a typical shounen but with a twist on almost everything.
Finished Ao no Exorcist, turned out ok but nothing more <.< i had such high hopes for it...
I've finished Amagi Brilliant Park which was a very good comedy with some stunning visuals.

I've also finished Kizumonogatari part 1 which was freaking amazing, Shaft keeps getting better and better at using 3d in their animations and it really pays of.
Finished the newest season of gintama :> 10/10 more feels than laughs in this one though
Also, i highly recommend mushishi

omega64: I wanna try Gintama but there's so much of it. :l

Watching Hajime no Ippo.
Love the manga, the anime is great too. (at least the first 20 episodes I've seen are great)
There's really much of it yea but most of gintama episodes are 20 minutes of gags which are completely irrelevant story wise. Actually i've watched the second season of gintama first by mistake and i didn't really notice it untill after i finished it xD So my advice is hop in, watch 2-3 episodes from whatever season and see if you like it :p
Anyone watching the new JoJo ? :> From the couple of episodes i've seen so far im actually a lil tiny bit disappointed :( so far stardust crusaders seems to be my favourite.
avatar
omega64: It gets better further in.
Stardust Crusaders was my least favourite. xD
Yeah well it got a lot better. Still it feels a whole lot different from the previous JoJo's. Probably because of the school setting.

Is there something in particular you didn't like about Stardust Crusaders?
avatar
omega64: It being way too long. :P
Part of it might just be me having already read the manga. But that didn't bother me with the previous arcs.
There's never enough JoJo, especially when there is nothing good on the radar right now <.<

I've watched Mawaru Penguindrum like 2 weeks ago mainly because it seemed really solid on trailers and had good recommendations. Gosh how boring it was <.<

Finishing Mob Psycho 100, beggining was very meh for me but later on it gets quite nice, the recent popularity of overpowered characters tho is starting to get a bit repetitive <.<

VeTrack: I'm curious what makes someone check out Mob's anime in the first place, is it because of OPM? Back when I was reading the manga, not many people even knew about it or they're simply dissuaded by the art. Heck, even I wasn't really that interested into it till like 60+ chapters but it's for different reasons... I still haven't watched all the episodes but I like what they did with the anime in comparison to the manga. Some events were re-ordered and expanded upon, and it's quite surprising how the correct use of colors can make that artstyle work well in animation. Btw, which other OP characters?
I've watched mob because of its good score on myanimelist and yea by overpowered characters i mainly meant one punch man :p

Lucumo: Everything has a good rating on MAL though as it's heavily inflated there.
I disagree, as long as you realize that score of 7 means "Average" its pretty reliable.
avatar
Lucumo: You actually just agreed with me though, saying the same thing :P
Ok then :D

btw... i've started watching inu x boku, its cool and the tsundere main character is not that annoying which is a surprise :>

Lucumo: I've watched a bunch of movies since Saturday: Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, Kotonoha no Niwa, Kaguya-hime no Monogatari, Omoide no Marnie, Bakemono no Ko, Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda., Hotarubi no Mori e and Tonari no Totoro.
Kaguya-hime no Monogatari is easily the best one out of these. The art style is gorgeous, the characters are fun and the fairy-tale it's based on, I didn't know.
100% agree on Kaguya-hime, the art really is something else. Ookami kodomo was boring at times but still a good watch, Hotarubi was cool, kind of a tear jerker tho.

Im planning to watch Omoide no Marnie at some point, how do you recommend it?
