1.048596: If that was minor I really wonder what you consider to be major.

huN73R: Something like Kissxsis, perhaps.
Or the legendary Ladies versus Butlers specials.

But I do get what he had in mind - much of the nudity in Kill la Kill doesn't seem sexual, but more like a celebration of the human body and getting rid of the evil clothes. For example, the skimpy battle suit of the main heroine has an in-universe explanation for its design, but we all know very well that it was just to look good for us, the viewers :)
I really liked KlK despite its flaws, but you will get much more enjoyment of it if you know at least a little about the older things that inspired it, like Cutey Honey, Blazing Transfer Student, or even the little things like Marvel Comics properties :)
avatar
huN73R: You got my point, but the explanation part in series universe you mentioned, where was it and also what was it? Looks like I wasn't paying attention, I just thought it was done for sake of comic effect.

dragonbeast: using as little contact surface between body and kamui as possible, its powers could be used to full extent without controlling the user
Exactly, thank you, it was explained in one of the first episodes when Ryuko had her own doubts about the outfit :)

As for sci-fi, except for the ones already mentioned (although I hated Gunbuster) I would definitely recommend Space Dandy. I also really liked Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou and Eve no Jikan - both are slice of life stories about androids and gynoids; and Baoh the Visitor, based on the previous work of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure's author (and it is truly bizarre).

Oh, now I remembered - Knights of Sidonia, while kind of ugly because of CG, is really nice as well.

Try Gintama if you want a laugh!

Personally i'm a huge fan of monogatari series by Shaft so i recommend these too. (Your brain might need a lil bit of adjustment to the way the anime works though xD)

omega64: Gintama is pretty intimidating considering how many episodes it has.
Meh, Gintama is one of those animes in which it doesn't matter if u start from episode 101 or 1st because it has close to zero plot development.
Really, there's no commitment needed to it so no need to feel intimidated :D
avatar
Fonzer: Ever tried Seto no Hanayome or otherwise called My Bride is a Mermaid. That stuff is too funny, yet i still survived.
avatar
ShadowPatriarch: Will check it out, although given the setting I am not getting my hopes up. Thanks for the recommendation.

avatar
Necross: No, but I am enjoying Monster Mastsune: Everyday Life With a Monster Girl.

Psycho pass gets better as you go on as the main villain is a hybrid of Moriarti and V in a world that is a mix of A Scanner Darkly and Minority Report.

Deadman Wonderland is great too, but the anime was cancelled mid way so t ends reather abruptly.

Future Diary is also a good one, with an ending you wont see coming
avatar
ShadowPatriarch: Do u mean "Monster Musume"? Will give Psycho Pass a try again, when time permits. Will check out Future Diary and Deadman Wonderland. Thanks for the recommendation.

ShadowPatriarch: For me, Gintama retained its original humour, well for the most part, till the arc with Kin. I've not seen any of the episodes after that, but is it still that funny, or as with the Kin arc, moved to more of a focus on the drama?

I saw parts of the bake and nise portions of that monogatari series, but I couldn't find anything interesting in it to keep watching.

Another worthwhile comedy anime is "Arakawa under the bridge". I have not yet seen the 2nd season, but the first was good enough.
Arakawa is made by the same studio that made monogatari so humor, style etc are similar really :D
avatar
bushidoukitsune: I have but one, if nobody mentioned it yet.

Cromartie Highschool. I won't say a word about it, but trust me on this one. It's a damn fine comedy.
This! I keep forgetting about it >.<
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Gintama
Bakuman
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
Nisemonogatari
Nekomonogatari: Kuro
Kill la Kill
Shokugeki no Souma
One Punch Man

That's a list of animes i scored "10" on mal so feel free to try anything from here

zeroxxx: CLANNAD and Steins;Gate.

Even a heartless soul like me can shed a tear or two.

Well, play the games first before watching the anime.
avatar
omega64: Steins;Gate is really hard to recommend as a VN. As you have hours of exposition to get through before it gets "exciting".
As much as i wanted to i just couldn't finish steins gate, the humor and setting were cool but that snail pace plot development ruined everything
avatar
KiNgBrAdLeY7: Could someone possibly recommend to me, some anime (or manga), with:

1) Cats!
2) Creatures that are beastman Cats!
3) Girls that dress in cat outfits!
4) Girls that act like cats in cute moments!
5) Girls doing the "cat dance", or something similar...

Thanks in advance, nyaaa!
Nekomonogatari
I've recently played neptunia and im wondering about the anime, anyone seen it? Is it any good?
avatar
Fomalhaut30: I believe the anime takes place after the events of HNV2, as Nepgear (? think that's her name, the second generation of characters) is in it. So if you're wanting to watch it, it may be good to read up on the plotline for that. I'm not 100% sure on that though.
Good idea, thanks!
I've just seen Sakamoto desu ga?

It's awesome, it somehow reminds me of beelzebub with the badass mc and hooligans.
avatar
omega64: Yeah Sakamoto desu ga is great though I still need to see the last few episodes.
Like beelzebub, just not in anime form.

Season 2 of Shokugeki no Soma has started, still great. :D

That reminds me, I've watched the first two episodes of the new Berserk.
It's terrible, just so bad. >_<
I'm hella hyped for second season of shokugeki no soma, haven't seen any episodes yet but first season is in my top 10 so i have huge hopes for it.
avatar
omega64: 2 episodes so far and it's amazing already.
I wonder what the rest of your top 10 is.

I wish Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches had a second season already. :l
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Gintama
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Bakuman
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
Bakuman. 2nd Season
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko Special
Nisemonogatari
Nekomonogatari: Kuro
Kill la Kill
Shokugeki no Souma
One Punch Man

Thats more like top 12 but yeah, i gave 10/10 to all of these

Haven't seen Yamada-kun.... yet, is it any good?

omega64: Kill la Kill but no Gurenn Lagann? :P
I actually haven't seen most of these.
Just the bottom 3. xD

I've read the manga for Fullmetal Alchemist, I don't think I finished it though.
Just remember there are 2 anime for fma, brotherhood is flaweless, the other one not so much :D.

Gurenn Lagann got a 7 from me actually :p
