UPDATE: Winners list:

Clairsentient - Inkulinati+Medieval Battlefields
drxenija - Inkulinati
DiffuseReflection - Inkulinati

Hello GOG users,

Today is All Saints Day and I decided to make a small contest.

The entry is very simple - just send me a PM and give a short info about your favourite depiction of Saint - it can be a link to a picture, short description (or link to it) of a book, movie or even game.

(latter may be a bit difficult, as Saints are not often present in games, but hey, Inkulinati made this!)

You can participate until the end of next Friday (8th November). I will do a draw next day (Saturday, 9th November) through the website ohmyluck.com (it's a simple spinning wheel, where I will put nicknames of all participants with valid entry).

Winner will receive two games - Inkulinati and Medieval Battlefields.
Second and third winner - will receive Inkulinati

Good luck in the contest! Wish you and your families all good in All Saints Day!

p.s. if there will be no objection from participants side, I will also link in the summary post "choices" of participants, as it can be quite interesting overview

Thank you as well for the giveaway.

Erbello is right about https://www.devcatsgames.com/ as well.

Cats Love Boxes is one of the best puzzle games on GOG.

As far as the two games being given away is concerned, I'm only interested in Inkulinati.

Hi everyone!

Many thanks for all entries so far, I've decided to increase the chances for winning - so first winner will receive mentioned Inkulknati + Medieval Battlefields.

And the second winner - Inkulinati (I will use the same page to draw both 1st and 2nd winner).
Look no further. Saint Nicholas!

I don't know why, but immediately after receiving two donations today, he was on my mind. Hihihi

Thank you MartiusR! Happy All Saints day tomorrow!
There's an old movie from 1928 called The Passion of Joan of Arc which I used to watch with my Nan. She wasn't religious (nor am I) but she really enjoyed watching old movies from the older days. She was born in 1926, so she had a soft spot for the older age of cinema.

And...the movie was pretty good! About the trial and (spoiler) execution of Joan. The wikipedia article gives a good snapshot of the movie, and really is worth a watch even now.

It just makes me think of my Nan. She had that side - older cinema, then she'd listen to The Beatles, or Johnny Cash (her favourite!), Rolling Stones...she would get little Transformers toys for me at markets when I was a tiny kid.

I miss my Nan, a ton. Thanks for the reminder of her love of cinema!
I propose Saint Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus. Just imagine all the responsibility he had, deserving praise and veneration. The depiction of him would be Saint Joseph and the Christ Child painting by El Greco. Thank you for the celebration and the invitation MartiusR, God bless you.

So to conclude:

Hoi MartiusR! I am not a Christian or a believer, so I refrain from participating as I would consider it unfair. I just want to express my gratitude for your generosity and congratulate you on engaging a developer for your giveaway! Excellent work! Thank you Ryszard!

Good luck to everyone!
I may not be a Christian
But I've done all one man can
I understand I'm on the road
Where all that was is gone
So where to now St. Peter
Show me which road I'm on

I'm in!

The prophet Elijah as depicted by Paulo Coelho in O Monte Cinco (The Fifth Mountain)
I read this book about 10 years ago, so my description might not be spot on. The Fifth Mountain is a fictional story about the biblical figure Elijah, showcasing Coelho's mix of spirituality, life's meaning, self-discovery, and existential questions. It's one of my top4 Coelho books, after I read around 15 of his titles.
I won't lie, self-discovery authors can be hit or miss. They often aim high while delivering content that feels like hollow, ultra compressed philosophical fluff. This can either resonate a lot or not at all with readers, depending on their mood and life situation. I think it's fine to dissent or even dislike their books, despite popular opinion, as long as we back up our opinions or defend against misguided ideas. I say Coelho doesn't try that. However, I wanted to caution you as the basic courtesy I expect whenever I dive into these captivating themes.
You'll probably find this book in your language since Coelho's one of the most translated authors out there. It's up to you to decide if the translation and content are worth it overall. Also, check out Coelho's bio as it's pretty unique and shows up in several of his books.
Hope you enjoy reading if you decide to give it a shot.

Kudos to the sponsor Ryszard! Thanks and you've got another follower!

Big congrats and many thanks to you Martius!

Regardless of anything else, this is very kind of you to set up here. Hope you're enjoying the replies, because I sure know I am enjoying seeing the different ways everyone is interpreting this!

Again, you're a kind soul!
Yesterday I was just reading an old sermon about being a Saint. The priest giving the sermon was saying that “To be a Saint, means to be clean. Clean from every defilement. Defilement from sin, because that’s the heaviest dirt. Saints are free from sin, in relevant degree. Jesus Christ is the only one free from sin, in absolute degree. And God calls us all to be Saints. But how can we do that, since we have sins? The way to sainthood is going through penance.”

I don’t have a preference in favourite depiction of a Saint. However, I post the depiction of Virgin Mary of Jerusalem, which (as I've read said a recently proclaimed Saint) depicts Virgin Mary as she really looks like.

A generous gesture on behalf of Ryszard! Very kind indeed! :D

Not in. But, I felt the need to say thanks for hosting an interesting giveaway, MartiusR! ;)

I'm not a religious person, but that does not mean I was never inspired by a saint. :P During my pre-teen years, I recall stumbling upon depictions of Saint Francis of Assisi and being completely mesmerized by this patron saint of animals. Children books and artwork often showed Saint Francis of Assisi lovingly surrounded by birds and creatures of all sorts, that I saw him as a superhero for animals. I recall my young mind being touched by these images and wanting to be just like him. ;)

I stumbled upon this photo on the internet, of a black cat hugging a statue of Saint Francis of Assisi and I'm very fond of it! Naturally, I do not know the photographer's intent when taking this photo, but my personal interpretation of it or the reason I like this image so much is because of the implied duality (I should say, what I percieve as implied duality): the black cat is often superstitiously associated with omens and evil, and therefore, remains a misunderstood creature... and here it is hugging the patron saint of all animals, a saint who'd love this cat unconditionally. :)

Well... Good luck, everyone!
