Even though there are claims that "We have more info here", pretty sure no one here is an actual eyewitness, and listening to someone on the internet does not count or make it more official. So if you are on either side (accuser/accused) of the shit pile known as social media outrage, you are part of the problem.

Is it tragic that someone committed suicide. Yep. But is the suicide due to wrongful accusation and the shit storm that followed. That's for the courts to decide, if and when the family decides to take action. Just like it was up to court to decide if the accusation were true.

Exactly. If Holowka coerced Quinn into sex (and yes, it's still an 'if'), everyone who knew about that should have call out that outright. Not wait until the guy would be most vulnerable and everyone would benefit from "reveal" the most. But instead Quinn and Co decided to backstab when they see fit. And yes, you right, that's their fault that he is dead, regardless if accusations are true (but I think they are not).

If you see a bunch of people ganging up on someone on social media/etc and then they off themselves to say it had no affect on the outcome/those people whatsoever is insane to hold as a stance, imo.

If this was a WOMAN and a man said stuff and she offed herself(or a trans person died) people would be more readily accusing the man who did so and you know it.

That's not the case, Twitter mobs only care if you follow their views - everything else be damned. Looks at August Ames - a relatively popular pornstar who refused to have sex with men who shot gay porn. There are less HIV safeguards in the porn industry in regard to gay porn and risk of HIV incidence is higher in men who have gay sex. She was trying to reduce her risk of getting HIV. The Twitter mobs bullied her into suicide. The gay pornstar responsible refuses to back down and the Twitter mobs rallied around him like he's a hero.

And yes, the same mob encouraging #metoo wanted to force a woman to have sex against her will. Logic has never been Twitter's strong suite.

Another meaningless death and tragically this will have absolutely no consequences or repercussions for anyone involved in this.

This really... They knew this man suffered personality disorder, he should have been encouraged to seek treatment instead of getting coldly blacklisted from "the industry" ... That led to a stage of despair and crisis for him to suicide, really, really wrong. I only pray this serve as a lesson to others to support people in need of assistance.

They also go after their own who don't follow the majority mindset/stance. Like some guy on YT said(paraphrased): You have to follow the herd and not go against the "current" as one of the outrage mob or they will tear you apart just as they would any outsider.

This reminds me of a new clip/vid by Tim Poole(Timcast on youtube). He states some celebs possibly want to start a new blacklist for celebs that are "bad" and whatnot....to me(if true) that reeks of the old days and the communist scare blacklist in hollywood. :\

Most people are only accepting of mental illnesses until you do something bad, then their empathy is out the window. Not even sure where that line is myself, but it is what it is. I told my wife about this story and how conflicted I was over what Quinn did, if she knew about his illness. My wife's response was "I feel for the guy but nothing excuses that behavior." I doubt she's wrong.

Alleged behavior....unless she had some proof to back up her claims.

friendly reminder to everyone posting in this thread, or following this story in general: people are innocent until the opposite has been proven by court. Even thousand of heartbreaking tweets arent valid evidence. You cant just judge others and begin a witch hunt, based on speculations and your personal opinion regarding involved people. YOU ARENT THE LAW.

It doesnt, obviously, mean that I 100% believe that Alec were innocent. Zoe were proven multiple times to be a shifty person, but everything may happen with everyone. Again - its up to police to decide, what happened for real, not for random people from internet.

And that s what make this whole story obnoxious. Its not Zoe by her own, who has driven Alec to suicide, but this whole social media hate mob. Everyone, who participated in Alec's cyberbullying (coz, lets be fair - it WAS cyberbullying) - beginning from twitter's sjws and ending with gaming "journalists", who were misrepresenting the truth (someone's posts on twitter without any proofs) as something that were proven and needs no investigation - all these people are responsive for Alec's death.

He wasnt the first and I doubt he will be the last. But thats something, we should think about: is world where people's life may be ruined by somebody's allegation on social media - something we really want?

1st bit: True enough, but after all the accusations Zoe lodged against everyone she could before and after GG, I feel she has some of it coming.

2nd bit: Again true, but the person who casts the first stone(so to speak) should have a bigger share of the blame for getting the ball rolling...just my two cents.

3rd bit: No, it reminds me of the mob rule in some countries where policing is corrupt or doesn't care. :\

You don't instantly believe any allegation but you also don't instantly dismiss them. That's why these situations are so tricky and cause so much drama. I'm simply saying if you're a woman who was abused, I don't think the perpetrator having a mental illness should stop you from reporting that abuse. However it also should have been factored in to how his company treated the allegation. Firing him instantly was ridiculous.

I think companies are so scared of the anger brigade that they instantly try and remove themselves from any controversy, which is why it feels like we're in a 21st century McCarthy era.
