If you’ve been hanging around for a while, especially in the <a href=”"http://www.gog.com/games">games tab</a>, you may have noticed that the growing number of items on our virtual shelf was inching closer and closer to our very first thousand - lo and behold, just this week we made it through our first 1k.

We could start off by thanking the Academy, our moms, and hoping for world peace - and it's not that we don't want to say all those things, but before we do, we want to thank the most important people that made it possible - all of YOU. It may sound a bit turgid and you might not believe that we're tearing up a little as we click "publish" on this piece of news, but you guys are the ones that make GOG.com what it is and our reason to continue bringing you more great games.

Before we break out the fruit punch, though, we want to honor those of you who almost caught up with us. We dug through our records and picked fifty users that have the most boxes on their own virtual shelves.

Let's all give an alphabetically ordered round of applause to:

Antarian, astrugar710, atomsword, AutumnYears, baketomato, Barry_Woodward, benjam47, budejovice, CuriousTwoAtGOG, Darthmort, Disciple_of_Doom, djr155, DonCorleon, Gersen, gorrrrrr, Heirgeir, howardtduck2005, ilcollezionista, jabba1971, JDelekto, KajQrd, kiwy, Kodijack, kotokimura, Lafazar, liquidBass, lobo_1, Loenas, maweball, mrkgnao, MTR77, Murfallo, mwmwm, n0nam3, OlK76, onthemike, palyea, Pantoprazol, sbaylus, Serpico, ShadowWulfe, Silvanus2004, soulroar, tippete, TrevWar, turbond, vasyl, VuA, xckx, and ZombieGum.

We will be contacting these guys personally for T-shirt sizes and mailing addresses for a little, personalized thank-you. We are off to celebrate - but before we go, here's to another thousand digital boxes on the GOG.com shelf!

P911GT3RS: Glad to see some people so supportive for a well deserved game website. I don't have the money to support so much though.
Me either(one more unbundling and I will have 100, though, which is a nice round number) but I've easily spent more on gog games than on Steam, even though my library on the latter is much larger. Sales and bundles add up. If gog worked with more of the bundle sites we would all be better off, and more people would see them as a better alternative to Steam.

Then again gog has the best Star Wars games, the D&D classics, and has Paradox Interactive classics...even if they're not the same company I signed up for back in 2009, less than a year after they first appeared on the interwebs.

gamesfreak64: thats a nice one, i only have 304, so a small eraser with the GOG logo on it would be nice to have :P
i got a logo (googled) and an eraser (googled)
into photoshop, added color filter

tinyE: That's not an eraser, that's a bar of soap, but it's way better! Can you imagine how great it would be at my inn if guest were to check in and see "GOG Soap" waiting for them in the shower! Shit, we'd be on the cover of 'Traveler' every month!
it is? i searched on eraser using google and the result said it was an eraser, but a bar of soap also erases things so its okay as it is now , and it does look better .

Yup that would be pretty cool having GOG guest soaps, GOG towels, just about anything can be GOG, how about a GOG tattoo for the real GOG fans ? :P
A shower curtain with GOG on it?
On the bathtub?
GOG on the hood of a car? or bike? motor? GOG bandaids to relive the pain

gogbandaid, (googled)

mrkgnao: Since you have been kind enough to name me in your OP, I hope you read this reply.

1) Thank you for honouring the commitment that I have made to your store. I am indeed honoured.

2) Not wishing to sound ungrateful, but I don't really wear logo T-shirts. Can I make a giveaway and gift it to some other no-less-deserving member of the community (and we both know there are many such that just happen to have less games)?

3) As for making "it through our first 1k", here is an experiment I would like you to do. Go to the page 20 of your "games tab". Here is a link: http://www.gog.com/games##sort=bestselling&amp;page=20. These are games 951-1000 in your catalogue. Now click on the right-pointing triangle at the bottom, to move to page 21. You can't, can you? I have called this the Y1K bug and I have reported it more than 48 hours ago. Until you fix it, you have not really made "it through [y]our first 1k", because "all of US" cannot see it.

4) If I may, I would like to use this opportunity, where I am briefly in your limelight, to draw your attention to a few posts of mine:

You have recently patted yourself on the back for your customer service. I trust I need not further explain why this has not felt particularly convincing to me.

5) Among the 50 people named in your OP, it is not unlikely that I have a further distinction. It is quite possible that I am the only one on that list that not only has the bulk of your catalogue, but also has zero games anywhere else. At some point (in 2011, I believe), I decided to tie my gaming hobby to your store. I decided to slowly buy most of the catalogue to support your store and to feed my collecting needs (yes, I like to collect things -- complete unexpandable things). Ever since, I have more or less hovered around owning ~90% of your catalogue. I traded away, gifted, sold, or thrown away all my physical games. I deleted the few digital games I had bought from the Humble Indie Bundle before that point (note: I traded away the links to the HIB pages to another collector on your 50-list; I know some might frown on this, but I have no moral problem with it, given that I deleted the games and barely played any of them). I never subscribed to any other digital distributor (certainly not one that requires a client). Why am telling you this? Because...

6) I am afraid it is quite likely I will not be listed in the OP of your 2000 games thread. One of the reasons I had tied myself to you were your principles (remember them?). You have changed over the years and that's OK. I didn't like some of the changes (e.g. DLCs, regional pricing) and I have said so, but I have adapted. However, when you made the decision that having a user interface in German is more important to you than allowing everyone in the world -- be they in China, Pakistan, Australia or Germany -- have access to this page: http://www.gog.com/game/commandos_ammo_pack, I could bear it no longer (and I am not even talking yet about buying the game; I am merely talking yet about the simple decency of having "all of US" share the same website experience -- YOUR website). I decided I will be slowly cutting off my ties with you. I will continue buying the games released before February 25, 2015 (the day regional banning was introduced), but not those after. Knowing me, I will make some rare exceptions (I have already been gifted a few), but the days of buying the bulk of your catalogue are over. I am already looking for a substitute website. Not surprisingly, I can find none.

7) The past month or two have been a sad, angry time for me. You had played a central part in my life; you still do. I have invested a lot of effort, time and money here; I still do. I wish I could remain a loyal customer of yours, but I cannot support your regional banning. I am willing to suffer many (not any) setbacks that may come with reversing it, but I am old enough to know this will not happen.
That was a wonderfully intelligent and eloquent post, although I'm hardly surprised given the source. Thank you mrkgnao, for saying what many of us are likely feeling.

Really, oh really? you think including all that stuff was worthy of the band-width you were trying to get across unless you had a cohort here in the forum waiting to cut & paste?

this is indeed a very good post.

about this part:

true cause maybe all websites selling games may have certain pages with certain games banned in some regions/countries.

The other fact that there isnt a subsitute to be found for GOG is true, cause like i said before in other replie, there are many websites with games,
but GOG is the best, better then steam, better then GG, and better then origin, and ubi.

Even if I'm happy with the 1000th DRM-Free game and that I hope GOG will continue this way like I said earlier, I must say that I fully agree with you with almost everything. I'm glad to be here, but I'm worry about the future and honestly, I hope things/concerns will be solved/situations will be improved.
Thanks for your well formulated post, summarizing opinion/situation of certainly a lot of us.

Just my subjective opinion, but there might be some Javascript hijackers on your forums.

Cohort? I am not part of a Roman legion, last I checked.

I replied to a post I agreed with, from a forumite I've gotten to know and like. If all you do is buy games from gog and never interact here then your opinion counts for nothing with me, son.

@Ragnarblackmane. please forgive me if I don't trust you anymore.
