If you’ve been hanging around for a while, especially in the <a href=”"http://www.gog.com/games">games tab</a>, you may have noticed that the growing number of items on our virtual shelf was inching closer and closer to our very first thousand - lo and behold, just this week we made it through our first 1k.

We could start off by thanking the Academy, our moms, and hoping for world peace - and it's not that we don't want to say all those things, but before we do, we want to thank the most important people that made it possible - all of YOU. It may sound a bit turgid and you might not believe that we're tearing up a little as we click "publish" on this piece of news, but you guys are the ones that make GOG.com what it is and our reason to continue bringing you more great games.

Before we break out the fruit punch, though, we want to honor those of you who almost caught up with us. We dug through our records and picked fifty users that have the most boxes on their own virtual shelves.

Let's all give an alphabetically ordered round of applause to:

Antarian, astrugar710, atomsword, AutumnYears, baketomato, Barry_Woodward, benjam47, budejovice, CuriousTwoAtGOG, Darthmort, Disciple_of_Doom, djr155, DonCorleon, Gersen, gorrrrrr, Heirgeir, howardtduck2005, ilcollezionista, jabba1971, JDelekto, KajQrd, kiwy, Kodijack, kotokimura, Lafazar, liquidBass, lobo_1, Loenas, maweball, mrkgnao, MTR77, Murfallo, mwmwm, n0nam3, OlK76, onthemike, palyea, Pantoprazol, sbaylus, Serpico, ShadowWulfe, Silvanus2004, soulroar, tippete, TrevWar, turbond, vasyl, VuA, xckx, and ZombieGum.

We will be contacting these guys personally for T-shirt sizes and mailing addresses for a little, personalized thank-you. We are off to celebrate - but before we go, here's to another thousand digital boxes on the GOG.com shelf!
I wish there would be something like digital boxes that you can touch, but there aren't. Anyway I congratulate GOG and would be happy with 2K games too. Hope you are working on it.

That's actually a very cool idea! Not only having just a cover on a shelf, but a box you could pick up and view things like the cover artwork from back to front, system requirements, etc.

mrkgnao: Since you have been kind enough to name me in your OP, I hope you read this reply.

1) Thank you for honouring the commitment that I have made to your store. I am indeed honoured.

~snip~

7) The past month or two have been a sad, angry time for me. You had played a central part in my life; you still do. I have invested a lot of effort, time and money here; I still do. I wish I could remain a loyal customer of yours, but I cannot support your regional banning. I am willing to suffer many (not any) setbacks that may come with reversing it, but I am old enough to know this will not happen.
a well spoken and thoughtful post, makes me sad nonetheless. Hopefully they will fix these issues

JDelekto: I would love to see a ton of Atari, Coleco-Vision, Magnavox Oddyssey (and Oddysey2), TimeEx Sinclair, Commodore 64, Vic 20, TI-99/4A and TRS-80 games come to light. So much dedication for others on so many other platforms deserves to see their work see the light of day.

There are probably emulators and games for all, but I would like to see someone take one of those to the next level!
I'm hoping mostly for Black and White, Bloodlines, Jazz Jackrabbit... how much I want to see them here...

mrkgnao: However, when you made the decision that having a user interface in German is more important to you than allowing everyone in the world -- be they in China, Pakistan, Australia or Germany -- have access to this page: http://www.gog.com/game/commandos_ammo_pack, I could bear it no longer (and I am not even talking about buying the game; I am merely talking about the simple decency of having "all of US" share the same website experience -- YOUR website).
I agree, out of all the things GoG ever did that I disagree with; this is the one that left the sourest taste in my mouth...

...and while it's still not enough for me to stop supporting them (my ultimate limit is their DRM-free stance, as long as they remain an exclusively DRM-free store I can forget/forgive their mistakes) I still deeply regret that decision and think it wasn't worth it.
Finally, my compulsive buying disorder and nostalgia for old games pay off :)) Thanks, GOG, and here's to the next thousand good games.
Congrats GOG, but also.. behave! :P
Then, you should reward those who bought even more games than the catalog, due to the multiple gifts!
Ah and Mrkgnao will send you a Magog hat instead.. lol.

EDIT: uh, just noticed his post :'(

I'd be satisfied if at least we could have access to the gamecard of each title in our library, it's quite shameful that not even the system requirements are made available for those games that have been removed.
Congratz GOG! :D

Available on MaGog, including system requirements and links to the last surviving gamecard (on the Wayback Machine; click on the game title or image):

Thank you kindly, GOG. I have every game on here except for the four that were pulled before I joined. Vote for them to return:

Colin McRae Rally 2005
ObsCure
Republic: The Revolution
TOCA Race Driver 3
Wow, GOG tshirts, I envy you :-)

Only have 253 games, way off from 1000.
Congrats to the people that got the t-Shirts.
Well deserved.
