While I haven't finished this game, it's a really captivating, surreal, and an unbelievably cool video game. For a reasonable price, it packs a lot of material that might not have huge implications or life changing but is nonetheless so imaginative that you can't help but replay, battle, strategize and exist within the parameters of the world Lindroth creates. I regularly revisit the soundtrack. I love its design. It's use of color. It is a personal favorite that should be on everyone's radar. For fans, developers and everyone in between. Gamers and enthusiasts of art cannot go without recognizing a game which cements itself as an important part of gaming history. It could be a lot more difficult, but the game is really relaxed. Not uncaring, but melancholic, somber and overwhealmingly cool. Suave, Calculated, and Thoughtful. This game blends a lot of what being an older sibling or someone you look up to is like. Or that's what I imagine it to be, at the very least. In any case, this game holds a special place in my heart and if you should stumble upon the opportunity to play it, you will not be let down. It is the ultimate display of creativity in recent memory. Absolutely, hands down.

Lost Odyssey
Lost OdysseyLost Odyssey is set in a world in which a "Magic-Industrial Revolution" is taking place. While magic energy existed in all living creatures beforehand, it suddenly became far more powerful thirty years before the beginning of the game. Because of this, it has affected society greatly, with devices called "Magic Engines" harnessing this power for lighting, automobiles, communication, and robots, among other uses. While previously only a select few could wield magic, many magicians gained the ability. However, such progress has also caused two nations to develop new and more powerful weapons of mass destruction. The kingdom of Gohtza and the Republic of Uhra (which recently converted from a monarchy). Uhra is building Grand Staff, a gigantic magic engine, while the heavily industrialized Gohtza actively pursues magic research of their own. A third nation, the Free Ocean State of Numara, remains isolated and neutral, though it is falling into disarray due to a general attempting to stage a coup d'etat. Uhra, at war with Khent, a nation of beastmen, sends its forces to the Highlands of Wohl for a decisive battle at the start of the game.

Magus
MagusMagus is a Korean-made hybrid of a role-playing and a real-time strategy game. The game is set in the medieval fantasy world Castalia, and involves battle for dominance between various kingdoms and provinces. Combat is handled in a RTS fashion, with the player- and AI-controlled forces moving on an overhead battle screen and executing commands in real time. The battles occur between medium-size parties led by individual characters with unique attributes and personalities. These leaders also receive experience, level up, and learn magic spells in a RPG fashion. The game's structure and pacing are also reminiscent of an RPG rather than an RTS: there is no base-building or resource management, and the missions involves completing fairly linear stages that consist chiefly of combat and plot-advancing dialogue.
