a really dark horror twist with alice in wonderland if you thought you seen nightmare fueled horror you haven't lived to see what this game all about. its really a great game its pretty challenging but fun all the same. you can say that there will always be room to remember a part of a game that will never leave me in a hauntingly kind of way and mad props to the story writers and the visual effects this game had back in the day. if you like a dark type games with some mental trauma involve then this might be up your twisted dark kind of mind set. its not totally bad but i would recommend highly to watch game trailer first before you dive into this game. it is definitely not for the weak of heart i will tell you this right now. the second one that came after this isn't that bad and toned it down but it was still pretty enjoyable. you will never find another copy of this game it is that rare just to let you know. if GoG adds this game you will not be surprised to seeing me buying a digital copy in less of a heart beat. enjoy people ^_^

Dark EarthDark Earth is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game for the PC.
Dark Earth takes place several centuries in the future, when a meteor collision with Earth tossed up great clouds of dust that blocked out the sun. Earth's remaining survivors began to seek refuge beneath small openings in the clouds, the few places light could be found. Those that remained in the 'dark earth' were hunted by strange creatures, infected with the darkness.
To shelter themselves from the dangerous 'dark earth', the people began to form cities beneath the light called 'Stallites'. At the time of the game, most of the citizens of the stallite have forgotten their history and now worship the light as a god. The stalites are run by 'Sun Priests', who maintain order and prevent the creatures of darkness from harming the city. After an attack on the sun priests, Arkhan has a poison thrown into his face that begins to infect him with the dark sickness. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
