took me 130 hours to complete on death march (added reload time) ..and i did a good chunk of side content. ..200 hours to complete everything is probably not that far off.
In think it depend gretly in which difficulty you play.
I'm in Blood & Broken bones, 50h+ & just arriving at Novigrad (I visited almost all interst point on the map in Velen).
I almost regret to not have started the game in max difficulty... Next playtrhough ^^
I think that 200h was stated taking into account the additional expansions that will be released. I remember reading 100h for the base game, but I could be wrong.
i have played more than 50 hours and did less than half of the game, so 100+ will be the minimum for any gamer that does more than just rush through the story.
I really can't recall a game in recent memory that gave me anything close to 100+ hours of gameplay that was not repetitive after awhile (DAI? pfft, I don't think so). Maybe Visual Novels, but those aren't exactly games.
So I don't know about you, but Witcher 3 shattered my expectations, even 100+ hours is pretty damn good. Even with just the storyline being, that 30 something hours. Good job CDPR, now if you'd only patch it up a bit (wanting others to enjoy it as much as I do).
honestly I think the main thing is, that even if the game is "only" 100 hours long you have to look at the fact that most of the game is unique quality content.

after hitting around 100 hours in my game I started to see the "kraks" in the open world makeup like the same monsters the same faces the same voices, boring loot...

BUT.. it took me 100 hours to get to this point. thats ALOT of time IMHO. no open world game I have ver played has ever had this much unique content.

I completed the game in around 120 hours i think. But I had fun in all those hours, THAT is really the main thing.

I find most of the Bethesda games give me well over 100 hours without wearing thin, particularly Fallout New Vegas (written by Obsidian, I know, but still) gave me well over 200. Sheepish grin - I just checked NV and according to steam, I have 4 and I'm still not done. I am sure W3 will be good for 200 or so before the expansions.

I'm at 30 hours on W3 and only level 10 and haven't finished the Baron's quest.
