Hey,

I have a minor inconveniance with launching Witcher 3, unless I launch the game and minimize the window straightaway, the game freezes as soon as it starts (press space, other than that black screen). I can't even end the process using task manager. Anyone got a solution to this? As I said nothing game breaking, as I can play normally as long as I minimize the game right away. I have not had any problems until gog galaxy ver. 1.2.9 and I have been playing since launch. Also it persists in 1.2.10.
Things I have tried:

- Verifying witcher 3 game files
- Disabling the overlay
- Disabling cloud sync, (save files over 4gb, it never really synced and now I have disabled it altogether)
- Launching from the .exe

None of these worked.

As it seems it's working for others, possible culprits I can think of:

- I do use afterburner and rivatuner
- Windows 10 update
- F-secure? I couldn't log in to gwent until a patch was released in gog.

Playing in 4k, no mods.
- gtx 980ti sli
- 6700k
- 16gb ram

Hope someone has a solution or some suggestions

I have to vote against afterburner and riva cause they really hate my Tomb Raider game...
i couldnt play without crashes while they were on..so i deleted them.
Did you try running the game without any fancy programs in the background?
As for windows 10 i got more fps after the update so that one should be ok...
I never heard of F-secure but just try to turn off all those fancy programs and see how the game runs.. :)

I got a 4670k with 16gigs ram and a 1070...play with lots of programs no trouble except burner and riva those just had to go!

I also can no longer launch the witcher 3.
no particular reason it has just stopped working.
have gone into GOG and it tries to update but the update always fails.

Where is this fix? I want access to the game i paid for please

Running 1.31A without issues and without using Galaxy.

Most suggestions are about .NET, MS VIsual C++. Some about graphic card drivers and settings.

If you've changed your settings, you might want to set them back to default:
Go to 'C:\Users\user\Documents\The Witcher 3' and rename or (re)move your setting files. TW3 will create default ones next time you'll start it.
