I've got The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt v1.32 It ran well did all I wanted it to do.

Now it won't run because you've overwritten it with version 4.whatever. There is no way I can stop it and now the game wants more modern files I suppose.

I had it setup as only v1.32.selected in the tick box
I had it setup as do NOT UPDATE.
NO CLOUD saves. in the tick box

In other words I had it setup the way I wanted it and the system allowed me to do it.

If I was happy to put version 4. whatever on I am capable of doing it myself
I was not happy to install it. I got pee'd off with the massive updates. And decided to stick with what worked.

How do I get my game back to my way, that I liked to play it?

Or do I have to pull the CD out and start over again? How can I stop you from overwriting it again and have to pull the CD out again?

Why is it when all bases are covered some ???? comes along and f's it up. That choice system was perfect. It fitted every version of the game you had.

Its was a bit difficult for me to comprehend what you like to reach, but you can start the game in dx11 mode. that is closer to v 1.32 It might be called "additional (game) links" under the abacus lines next to the play button. there should be other forum posts or an explaination by CDPR.

Hi Butterbrot_T5

I'll have a go when I get it sorted. Until now all I had to do was ask the installer to install my version. Now the installer only see's v4.??

I've got copies of copies of 1.32 just taking the time to bring them over to the new PC. Getting sidetracked playing the games that do work.

I had to install a newer I Microsoft file I've never seen before. An update one of the C++ lot maybe. It was familiar in type but new as in different to earlier ones. Yep I know with instructions like this you can find everything that's not important..

I'm picking I may be able to run it outside of the GOG interface?? Like we had to do in year 3 or four after release. It used to slow the game down to a crawl. Like 3 to 5 fps. Until you ran it outside of the UI.

Thanks for your help. Appreciate it..

It was mostly a growl at CDPR for breaking their word, download any version at any time. And as I wrote I think I have the installation CD plus a copy of v1.22 sitting on a disk somewhere. To monster Willis when I want to prove it once worked.

Initially I was setting up the structure to do a copy and past re-install. Really P'd I couldn't.

I suppose I've been spoiled since 2016 How about that 2015 2 Dec Butcher of Blavikin :- )

It's a good game, I've really enjoyed it. Not so much ver 4.? as the updates were so large I gave it away.

Thanks.

I don't know how it worked. But I went in played 5 minutes of 4.04? saved it check the beta channel and it was still locked came in here and a tab was open with Beta Chanel able to be opened. v1.32 on it's way down.

No idea but I'm thanking you. Thanks.

Cheers Bob.

To use v1.32 in the client at a PC with internet connection;

under the abacus lines (next to the play button), click on manage installation than configuration. Use the Beta chanal: Classic first and you will become able to select v1.32 with that.

Hi Butterbrot_T5

Yeah,I saw the classic briefly earlier today. Had a quick lift of the heart rate. Then it disappeared haven't seen it since. I'm hopeful it'll come back one day, now that an installed version is here.
I got a 4.04 copy down but I'm stuck on Cloud saves that don't correspond to my saved games on C:\ drive that are two years younger. Looks like I'm going to have to go delete them by hand.

At the mo there are only v4.04 showing. I'm hoping if I go in and do a save it may change something.

But for tonight I'm off to Forbidden west.

Deleting Cloud saves can wait until daylight.

Have a good one.

Cheers Bob.
OK, I found the rotten sod.

The Dickhead behind the mouse n keyboard.

My excuse and I'm sticking to it. Is fairly simple.

I joined GOG most likely sometime around 2015-ish

I got a brand new I7 just for this game.
So this was the 1st install of GOG
And 7 years later I cooked its power supply and fried so far it seems, the whole PC. A few things I haven't check but the MBoard & GPU don't light up in either the original pc with a new PSU or ( 4 years later: another PC.that had a dead 2070 GPU)

.

And this is the 2nd install
4 years later the 2070 in my next pc i7 MSI X went nuts revved its head off from a restart and other weird times..Lost control of all but the on/off power button no USB keyboard or mouse control. It went from going well to burko, in two -ish days.

So two days ago pc 3. arrived I started setting up the 3rd GOG reinstall. And couldn't remember how.. Something eventually clicked and I found the settings on this new install of GOG. And managed to get the settings sorted back to where I wanted them to be.

My apologies to the folk at GOG. The dummy was me.Not you folk.

But it did give me an idea.

How about saving an ini file of my GOG settings from my PC. Games installed where with verification of place. And verification of the not installed programs. A semi automatic re-loading of your games.

It would be more useful to me. Than saved games I never look at again once they are up there.

But re-installing GOG on a new PC would be of some use. As setting up GOG so infrequently is not cemented in that well at 3 times over 11 years. It just doesn't stick.

Just a thought.

Cheers Bob.
