On this mission i see a girl running away. When i try to find her im supposed to pick up a doll and follow her footprints. The doll cannot be picked up, it just disappeares, and the footprints stops right away.
The girl doesnt spawn in the woods so the quest is bugged.

Strange i get this bug since its clearly "fixed" in the 1.12 patchnotes.
I know i have done this mission before on a different walkthrough, (i believe i used patch 1.06 at the time) and this mission was fine. So in my case they didnt fix the quest. They actually bugged it.

There is a known issue with this and some other quests being broken by certain mods or scripts. Those are your problem, not the game or the patch. Remove all mods and scripts, verify your game, and the quest should behave properly, provided you load a prior save.

I see ......

However, im running the game cleanly, (no extra mods or scripts added) unless you mean the free DLCs.

Anyways .. im going to run that verify\repair thing you suggested and see if that can fix it.

Verifying should do it. It can also occur if you have inconsistent DLC versions in relation to your game version.

No change :(
Even did a reinstallation of everything.
Kept the saves obviously .... then ...
1. Installed game
2. Installed patch 1.01
3. Installed patch 1.01 - 1.10
4. Installed patch 1.10 - 1.12.1
5. Installed the free 16 DLCs
Still bugged ...

Im at a loss, guess i have to skip that quest :(

Thx anyways


(Failed to mention that im currently playing NEW GAME + ... maybe thats the cause.)

No, you're doing it wrong. Don't install patch 1.01. Download the 1.10 installer (8 parts), and the 1.12.1 installer, and the 1.12 DLCs. Install the game, install patch, install the DLCs.

hmm, yes, i can see it now .. i got "the old version" of the game it seems.... where there is a 6 part installation.

Well well ... seems i got some downloading to do then. And with MY line its gonna take a while.
Shit ...

ah well ... i may be back here after easter to report my conclusion on the topic.

No luck.
Reinstalled from scratch with the "new" 8 part installation ...

1. Installed Game (8 parts, 1.10 included)
2. Installed patch 1.10 - 1.12.1
3. Installed Free 16 DLCs

Still the same bug.
Dont see how this could be on my end now.
Like i said earlier, im currently playing new game +. Maybe thats whats wrong.

Anyho, gotta skip that quest then. :(

What do you mean by "1.10 included"? Did you download and install the 1.10 patch? Also, you never mentioned which version of the free DLCs you installed. You must download the 1.12 version. This bug *is* because of your installation.

No i didnt install patch 1.10.

I installed the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Part 1 to 8 game files which says 1.10(gog40) behind it.

Then the patch 1.12.1

and then the free DLC program (16 DLC) 1.12

Tell me AGAIN what im doing wrong ...

Fair enough, then there's only one other thing that I can think of: did you load a saved game from before you started this quest? <--- VERY important.

I got the quest from noticeboard, but waited to do it after i had leveled up some.

So in my save i HAVE the quest yes, but havent done anything in it.

I guess thats the problem then...
