i am wanting to quit buying games on steam since they implemented this new interface. Half the games i have on steam i own the original disc to. Does gog use a cloud back up like steam? Can i install those games from disc and have them saved in a cloud on gog similar to steam? Do i have to run gog interface to run the games i buy off GOG. Sorry for my lack of knowledge about the system. I just want to quit dealing with steam as thier system is really terrible now. Any help to these questions would be appreciated very much.
Yes, GOG Galaxy does support cloud saves but not for all games (and there is no support for that if you install games from a disc). However, you can add those games you own on disc to GOG Galaxy and unlike Steam the client will track your playtime. Lastly, games you buy from GOG are DRM-free and you don´t need to use their client to play them. You can just download the installers from the website, but you will be missing automatic updates and cloud saves that way. Oh and unlike other clients, games bought from GOG can be played offline, since there is no activation checks or anything like that.
