Finally got the download done for my retail version (took two days of trying several times) and now I can't get past the initial patching? For what I paid for this game and can't even get in to try it, it's ridiculous. I've never had this much trouble trying to load a game.

I'm not technical, so I need something easy or at least semi-easy to install. Oh well... back to Final Fantasy for me.. least that game works!

You need to provide more details about your problem. What does it mean "I can't get past initial patching?"
Patches are optional. Does the vanilla game works?
If it works, how are you installing Patches? GOG galaxy or browser?
Do you have trouble in DOWNLOADING Patches or INSTALLING them?
I'm not an expert, but I'm sure someone in this community will know how to help you.

Why did it take you "two days of trying several times"? Do you have a really slow Internet connection? Are you on the right site...or did you mean to be on Steam?

If you are using Galaxy, I suggest that you put that aside for now and use your Browser to navigate to www.gog.com and take it from there. It is simplicity itself--you may be making the task far more complicated than it is. As benlz said, you need to pony up a lot more info in order for people to be able to help you.
