right, heres the story, you dont make a f**king game and put it in a cd unless its actually finished and ready to play.

1. bought the game in store
2. took several attempts to install
3. when insstalled couldnt play from start menu, had to download this gog thing
4. downloaded gog, play button isnt even f**king clickable
5. buy a game in store, cant play until its released, how the f**k did i buy it if its not released? disc in the f**king drive tray
6. after several attempts to download a release whatever the f**k that means play button becomes clickable
7. still doesnt f**king work
8. do some research to find that i need to dowwnload a patch. (the fact that ive to download a patch for a brand new game i just bought in the shop fucking perplexes me< i sell cars and i wouldnt sell a car to a customer and expect them to have to download the f**king driveshafts themselves)
9. so here i am after 3 days, thinking im going to get to play it but fuck me it still doesnt work.

i have tried launching from the drive folder or whatever that is didnt work. also the verify/repair button isnt clickable

im on a windows 8 laptop

seriously i know alot of gamers are "nerds" (no offence intended) but not everyone is a computer whiz at this sh*t. cant believe im living in a world where i buy a game in a disc and have to put up with this sh1t. please tell the developers their suppose to make games where upon placing disc in drive and installing, the game actually plays. this isnt fucking build a bear

fffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Car salesman,that says it all.
My good man can you share your specifications please?

The game doesn't launch at all if you don't have at least 8GB RAM as it crashes outright. No amount of patching can fix it if you don't have the necessary minimum requirements.
I feel your pain, and it is delicious!
thanks thelostdummer. this laptop is 4gb ram. why would they make the game installable if the device doesnt fiit the games needs. is ram upgradeable?

There's no system check that's why anyone can install the game on any machine. Check your laptop if it uses a single stick RAM, if it does you can surely add another one.

4GB is not enough as other services are running in the background. I myself have 8GB RAM and when I check memory usage for witcher 3 it's already 4GB.

Why would you buy a game without making sure you met the minimum requirements, which are posted on the box? If you bought the game before the release date, that's also the fault of the store you bought it from, not the developer. There are street dates for a reason, it was the store that broke it.

You would have to look up your laptop model and see if the RAM is upgradeable or not. Some are, some aren't.

Being a cars salesmen, I'd have thought you would have heard about recalls, which are basically the same thing as a patch, except ia patch only requires 10 seconds of your time for it to download automatically.
First fuck up.
Comparing software to cars.
Second fuck up.
Admitting being a computer idi... I mean illiterate.
Third fuck up
Getting the computer version of the witcher 3 instead of a console version.

STRIKE OUT!

Going to provide some information here that I hope will be of use to you.

Good luck.
A windows 8 computer with 4gb of ram do not bode well.
Ram is farily easy to fix and shouldn't be TOO expensive as ddr3 is generally cheap, don't really keep track on the laptop pricing. Even if it's just one slot you can replace the 4gb stick with a 8 one.

But from having so little ram in the first place I would guess that your computer overall is rather weak for games, specially the video card. So the chance to play the game decently would be slim at best.
Check out http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/12446/?p=r for an easy check of your system.

Good morning Crow:-)
i searched the web and didnt fnd any answers, my laptop is a toshiba satellite c50-a-19t, can i upgrade the ram

patches arent the same as recalls. recalls occur when the manufacturer knows when a part of the car is faulty and only that. patches do that but also and specifically in the case of the witcher 3 1.03 patch, it adds new features that were not necessary, but a bonus or addition. no car manufacturer will recall a vehicle to improve a part that isnt faulty or does not pose a problem

Found your specifications. It says it's Celeron? I'm afraid you need to return the game as your CPU is not supported. Even if you add more RAM there's no way you can play Witcher 3 with this kind of processor. (Celeron is not even considered at all as a true processor hehe)

You are also using Intel HD Graphics another reason you can't play the game.
Yes sadly this game is way above what your machine can handle.
I would suggest you bookmark my above link and use it to check if any further games you want to buy would be playable on your computer.
Why are we even discussing this?

Shouldn't we simply point and laugh?

Ok, ok I'll give proper advice.

Return the game, buy a console, buy the console version (make sure you get the game for the correct console, unbelievably as it may seem, a playstation game will not work on a xbox). Enjoy witcher 3.

Never touch a computer again.

Problem solved.
