Hi everyone,

I completed a game few months ago and now I wanted to come back and play a little, but when I launched a game it seemd to be opend for the first time. I couldn't load a game, I only could start a new game. I checked and all save files are in the correct folder. c:Users\Username\documents\thewither3\gamesaves. I had 200h and I haven't even started blood and wine.

"thewither3"? The game won't find them there.
D:\Users\Filip Jaszczyk\Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves

I ment this. Earlier I didnt copy and paste cause its orginal folder I just wrote what i remembered.

I suspected as much. In that case, do you have the game up to date? It may be a game version compatibility issue where your current game won't load your old saves. If not, has anything else changed on your system?
I haven't played a bit so the game could updated. How can I cope with this?

Need more information. For example, what version is your game and how are you running it (Galaxy, Steam, manually)? Was it run the same way in the past? Also, what OS do you have? If Windows 10 check your admin privileges and make absolutely sure that your saves haven't been placed in Onedrive.

I found the solution!!! I don't know why but the save folder had been changed for no reason. Every source says that it should be c:\Users\_user_name_\Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves and it had been on my PC, but now it is C:\GOG Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\gamesaves . So if anyone else should have a problem like this you can check if this is it.

That (the game installation folder) is not where the saved games should be. For example, if a person installed the game to 'Program Files' the game would not be able to save there at all. The game looks for saves in documents and always has done. Do you run the game via Galaxy? Is this a Galaxy thing? I doubt it.
I use GOG Galaxy and my save still goes where I said earlier. I contacted support and they didn't know why. They checked the logs both for Witcher and Galaxy and found nothing.

Then you should back up your saves, uninstall the game and reinstall it. That save folder location is *wrong*, and you risk losing your saves all over again.
