I am thinking of upgrading from a GTX 260 to a GTX 750Ti for TW3. The main considerations are power consumption, only 75W for the 750Ti, and price. According to Eurogamer, the 750Ti can play TW3 with console-like quality graphics at 1080p and 30fps, even when paired with an i3: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-the-best-pc-hardware-for-the-witcher-3
There's also a steam posting that roughly corroborates the above, albeit with an overclocked card, http://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/613958868363277115/, as well as various youtube videos.
Has anyone had experience using this card? Is Eurogamer correct or are there some regions of the game where the framerate will plummet? For example, apparently the PS4 version plummets to 20fps in the swamps, which sounds unplayable.
As for graphics quality, I have looked at the tweak guide at http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide#the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-water-quality and I think I would be happy with the quality of the settings that Eurogamer used, possibly tweaked a bit as per the steam post. For most settings, there does not appear to be much difference between high and medium or low, even, in some cases. One thing I cannot tell from the guide, though, is how much pop-in occurs with lower settings. A lot of pop-in could be distracting.
