is it faster to download the patch through the web site or this client?

As far as I've read if you installed the game with galaxy you should use galaxy to update it to avoid complications.
Other than that when it comes to download speed it should be the same.
Only impact on speed would be that you have to manually install if you download the patch when galaxy does it all for you.
