I am looking for another open world game with superb graphics like The Witcher.
Can anyone make a recommendation?
Open world and with graphics to match The Witcher 3? That's a big ask. You do realise TW3 won numerous prizes, yes? Maybe it would help if you told people which games in this category you have already tried. For example, everybody and his dog has probably played Skyrim.
I can confidently say there is no game out there 'like' The Witcher 3. It truly is one of a kind, although there are many that share the same aspects, such as, open world or third person. One game that comes to mind, although I haven't got around to playing it, is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Not really your typical open world RPG, but I've heard good things about it.
Not superb graphícs, but Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a really good game, and looks well. Action-rpg (sword & sorcery), open world, good story, monsters like The Witcher...

I recommend you to take a look ;)

I'm playing that right now. Story is usual Capcom/Japanese 'super-crazy-wtf!', but the gameplay I am enjoying a lot. :)

Dragon Age: Origins -- Good game
Dragon Age II -- Meh!
Dragon Age: Inquisition -- An abomination. Avoid.

Yes. Skyrim, Fallout 4, Dead Island Riptide, Risen, Call of Pripyat, all the most recent games I can recall playing.
I'd recommend DA: Inquisition too. It's not quite as good as Witcher 3 but wouldn't call it an abomination either. :p It's grindier, though there's more customisation and a bit more character interaction.

Also, if you have PS3 or 360 there's Red Dead Redemption. Last-gen now but gorgeous for it's time. Not a RPG but hey.

Good reviews and it seems that it was released this year. Fair price on Steam.

This thread is somewhat outdated but as I have just completed The Witcher again I have to get a new game now.
Dragon Age: Origins vs Inquisition. Origins is a bit outdated, released in 2009 but apparently has a better story line and
options but understandably poorer graphics. I read an in depth review of Wild Hunt vs Inquisition and they appear
to be similar in many respects yet you call the Inquisition "an abomination"
Could you please enlighten me on this as you are obviously very familiar with Wild Hunt.

The Wild Hunt and Inquisition are *nothing* alike, that's preposterous bullshit. I'm not going to go into a wall of text to explain why it sucks. You only have to search Google and you'll come up with hundreds of reviews and comments that explain exactly why it is such a bad game compared to the others, like this one (that's only one of many, many examples).

Oblivion, but when I played, the DLC was overpriced and later play got wierd. Bethesda lacks ineresting vocal talent, also. Fallout, had pretty art. My fav open worldrr, was a MMO, AC2. I loved setting up my turrets, and waiting for rare loot and bosses to spawn on my radar, out in the backwoods, then lure um over for a beat down. Not around anymore.

A good sandbox game, to me, has gotta have a rock solid, endgame economy. Other wise there is no incentive to wander it, for very long.
