Furiey: Don't know about the FPS mod but on a UK keyboard the @ key opens the console for me.

Cattie: windows? its nearly "guaranteed failsafe" to use an old version of fraps to get the fps (the last freeware version). its from 2013, but still works on win10 for me. it shows you the fps and you can make screenshots. should work for nearly all games.

console enabler: i use this one for the goty 1.31 version of witcher 3. but some people wrote they had problems. hard to say why. for me it works perfect and its very easy to uninstall:

DannyG13: I've tried everything to get first person mode in the GOTY edition working and cannot do it. My latest disaster was completely breaking the game and it stopped launching!

Once I get the little guy going again, how do I get GOTY 1.31 to give me FPS mode?

I tried the console enabler - but tilde and F2 just didn't want to play ball. Nothing happened. Whether I put the command in the My Documents version of general.ini/user.settings or the game directory.

The debug console mod broke the game entirely with some error about VB2005.

So, when I reinstall the GOTY version 1.31 afresh (albeit with my cloud saves synced) what is the most guaranteed failsafe to make this mod work?

I really want to try first person!

Surfinjo: Don't know what you mean by First Person Mode.

FPS is accessed in the ESC >> Options >> Video >> Graphics.

I never heard it being described as a mode though. This is done from inside the game.
