I am new to GOG and currently my Witcher 2 is in downloading stage. All I want to know how GOG handles the activation key? Is it embedded into the digital version, just like in Steam or does GOG inform the key via email (if that is the case, I didn't receive such email)? Thanks.

GoG sends it to you in e-mail. You don't need the key to play the game, but you do need it to register the game, and you need to register to download DLC (like Troll Trouble).

How long ago did you buy the game? I think it took ten minutes or so for me to get my e-mail, when I bought the game from GoG.

it was in the purchase confirmation email. Did you scroll all the way to the bottom and read it all. I know I normally don't look closely at them.

Oh, and you need to make sure you have images enabled in your mail. Back when we still had a Witcher forum :-(, a lot of gmail users thought they didn't get their keys, then they enabled images on that mail and pow -- there it was.

You can find your serial at:

http://www.gog.com/en/page/my_tw2_info

And, no, they don't send you that link, nor do they make that link available (as far as I can tell) under your "My Account" page as one would think they should. I have no idea how the first person who posted that link even came up with it. But, it's been thrown out on the boards a lot over the last month. Hope that helps if you can't find the email.

Edit: Obviously, you need to be logged in for that url to work.

Thanks for the link and I did manage to find the email too. Looks like the email filters have behaved in an unexpected way. I searched for the email after I read the replies. Thanks.
