Hey, just wanted to ask if you know that it's bug or intetntional that you can't regen vigor when you have quen on..

I seriously hate it, I had Quen on after fight (magic spec) and I had to wait over 1 minute for it to wear off to get vigor for aard to break a wall.. Yeah 1 minute might not sound bad but it's awful when you have to just idle
I can't imagine that it's not intentional. Quen is powerful enough that it needs that kind of drawback.

I'd go with intentional in order to keep you from Quen-spamming / make Quen more tactical as you have to decide whether you want to use Quen or other signs/abilities.
It is intended that your vigor does not regenerate when Quen is active. I personally like it but that might be irrelevant=)
Intended, and documented in the manual..

If it wasn't the case, there'd be no reason not to have quen up 24/7.

Yes, god forbid the almighty overpowered Quen have *some* kind of token drawback.

It is indeed documented... Although what I find odd is that with the proper upgrades, you can have Quen active virtually all the time. At the end of the game, once I got through my 7 bars of Vigor, I needed only wait 5 or so seconds for my vigor to completely regen.

Pretty much this.

I relied on Aard pretty heavily when fighting groups of Elves (they'd block all my normal hits so I had to stagger them first) so that setback was enough for me to avoid using it every now and then.

Still dislike that spell though - I feel it's a bit too cheesey to be honest. Much rather use Yrden and Axii to improve my odds - feels a little more tactical that way.

Playing the game as a Sorceror-style as well, I can say that vigor does regen fast when you level the correct abilities, but at not time is Quen a no-brainer. If you're mid-fight and lacking vigor, you can either wait for the regen, then cast quen, cast it immediately, or go offensive. All 3 options are always viable.

Well, I guess I played 'cheesy'. Out of vigor? Either attack or roll around. 5 seconds of waiting finished? Quen away another 7 bars (of vigor). The only time I used any other sign was during the Kayran battle.

It's amusing the amount of "bugs" this game has.. from the boss fights to seeing Ioverth with his eye uncovered.

My guess is you played on normal. On Hard, even a maxed quen can only provide so much cover.
Being able to manually cancel it would be nice, especially out of combat.
