Since there are many posts from people asking for help with the Kayran because they can't complete the QTE i will explain how did i manage to fix it since i had the same problem.
Some computers fail to register the clicks properly or to realize that the bar is already filled. What worked for me was to get a 800x600 ressolution and set all graphics to low.

And another thing, you don't need to get the bar filled, 4 clicks or so would do the job.

I finally got past that section of the game. For some strange I kept thinking that I had to reduce the quality settings. Did not realize it was the actual monitor resolution.

I agree this seriously needs to be part of the FAQ
I sent a message to "Ethaar" of the GOG staff and creator of the troubleshooting sticky to add this solution to that thread over a month ago (June 9th). No dice.
