Geralt is just a swordsman at heart. Unlike the first game where you could get pretty far as a "caster" with Igni. There aren't really any classes or distinctive "builds" you can do in this game, that I can see at present, which diminishes its replay value somewhat. Only half(or less) of each tree is really worth taking, and you get enough points to hit most of those, with minor variations.
It is unfortunate. I consider this a much better game experience than say, Mass Effect 2, but I got way more repeat gameplay out of that game trying out the different classes and such. This game is good for a repeat trip for story reasons, but I dont really see myself firing up the game to try a "caster" play-through.
This is something I hope TW3, which I would like to preorder right now, can improve upon.
