Anyone else's mice sluggish when navigating menus (and in game menus, like the journal) ? I have a Logitech G5.
The mouse is software emulated, so if your hardware (probably CPU) isn't beastly, you will likely experience some sluggishness.
I have an i7 920 @ 3 ghz, I would hope that that would be beastly enough. Oh well. Why can't they have a normal mouse!?

no one knows really. its generally used on games that never had a mouse to begin with so usually ported games.

but low end games sometimes have them too because you wont notice a difference in them due to low requirements.
Try turning off V-Sync if it's enabled

vcync has no bearing on a software mosue. if this was hardware and he was suffing lag then yes vsync (unless triple buffered) will make a difference but in this case it does not at all

I beg to differ. With V-Sync on I experience a noticeable delay in mouse movement and so do others on this forum.

There is also a mouse acceleration option in the .ini file. Setting it to 0 may also help

the problem is that is a software mouse.

simple as that. it emulates a mouse rather then using hardware.

smoothing also makes little difference in how sluggish the mouse is according to tests i have done before.
the problem can ONLY be fixed by a patch

Open User.ini

Go to [MouseInput] section and set
MouseSmoothness=0
Smoothness=0

that combined with turning off V-sync, seems to work for some

I've noticed it as well. The pointer seems to float or sime such illusion, but over all a kind of sluggishnes. I am using a wireless mouse, but may switch to a wired one because of the batteries. They tend to die at the worst of times.
I don't know if this makes a difference, but try to disable the option "enhance pointer precision" in Windows (control panel>mouse>pointer options). Maybe this helps.

Mousesmoothing=0 worked for me. It's the only way I could beat the arm wrestling. It also made the game feel better all over. I have a G9 with drivers installed. Using OS acceleration. Another option I found is to use a gamepad. It actually can be a little more predicable. Keep in mind it's then harder to manage inventory.
