Was amazed at the production quality of the first 5 minutes, but now I'm stuck at the beginning. (Edit: I have been informed I chose the 3rd area first by accident!) Fighting the guards is pretty difficult on its own when the game has no real tutorial to speak of, and I don't have a clue with the controls. I've gotten ok with fighting the guards, but every time I run out of the first covered area the dragon flames me and I die instantly. Been trying to figure out the timing or whatever to even get past the stupid start of the game for 30 minutes. Any tips on how to make it to the second covered area without dying?

That's not the beginning though. That's the the third area.

What possessed you to do things out of order?

Whatever it was, if you insist on doing the hardest part first the answer is; always have Quen active.

Spoilers, I guess... for people who want to try it on their own.

Try using the Quen sign. Mash "3" until you get it or ctrl+click to bring the menu up. It should help a lot at least. I got by it on hard like that.
Use Quen sign before moving to the second covered area. Try that.

Thanks, I'll start over then! Didn't realize when I chose the option it was going to spawn an adventure, and then forgot that it was by choice :P i figured I must have done something wrong, because it felt pretty broken.
you have to watch the dragons movements, when he is in the right position run across

Yeah the real beginning actually is slow enough to let you know what's going on and get your bearings :) Thanks again for the help everyone.
