How do I kill Loretho in the cave in Act 1? I have applied oil to sword, drank regen potions etc and he's still as tough as a stone. I only taken him down about to half health before dying. I tried using Aarden against him and that only helps out a bit, ignii is useless -_- other signs don't seem to help much either.

If you had taken him down to half health, you'd have won. ;p I'll assume that was just exaggeration on your part born out of frustration.

Anyways, there are cheesy ways (throwing knives), or you can use Yrden to keep trapping him while you wail on him.

most of the times I find the game too easy but this fight is really tough

and no I wasn't exaggerating I had him down more than half health and he still attacks

Finally got him down to a bit more than half health down and then he took off. This fight took some real skill and determination to win, really quick attacks and dodges plus the aard sign was the one that got me through the fight.
