I'm at level 6 and I tried the Kayran quest but I get killed every time before I get to the wreck. Should I wait until I get to a higher level. Is it the same for the Nekker side quest?

um the kayan one isnt really level dependent but rather all about timing. On the other hand the nekkar quest i found was more about items, make sure you down some potions and oils as you can get swamped by them.

I cannot get to the wreck even with Triss when the drowners are charging me. Any hints to how to kill them?

It is if you're not confident you can get through the entire fight without getting hit. From the sounds of it, people are getting killed in one shot when they fail to spam Quen/upgrade their vitality, so leveling up would certainly be a prudent thing to do.

well from my experience i didnt use a single spell when playing the kayran besides the stun. when you get up to rock throwing bit use quen and thats all you really need to use. If you find that you unable to doge the tenticles use quen but it does distract and take little time to use the spell which is why i prefered to concentrate on dodging rather than worrying about gettiing hit.

Mind you i played on normal so it took ~2 hits to kill me.
if your having trouble getting rid of the downers are u using any potions, ur silver sword ( crucial without it pretty much useless) and spells? Hit and run tactics work best in this game.

I layed down a trap(the one that burns them) in front of Triss and waited for them to run in it.Then,Triss attacks them and I run behind drowners backs and pull 1 or 2 off Triss so I don't have to fight them all.It was pretty easy on hard,think the trap gets half of their health.Do you have a silver sword?

No, no silver sword and no traps. Which trap did you use?

Well,you really shouldn't fight monsters without the silver sword.Go find a dwarf craftsman in Flotsam so he can make you one.Don't know the name of the trap,I got it in prologue and I know it does fire damage.You can also use igni sign against the drowners.Think even Triss tells you to use it.

Thanks. I need to find some silver ore first. I was earlier at a dwarf but I lacked silver ore to make silver sword... I'll have a look around.

I think that you can buy silver ore from dwarf craftsman as well

Yeah,you can get it from the dwarf or you can find one at Loredo's estate and some more in caves near Flotsam.
