I downloaded and started the patch but when it was allmost finished it was simply stuck saying

please wait while unpacker extracts patch 2.0 for The witcher 2 on your computer

but it never ends,,, and I try doing it all over,, same thing

how to fix this?

Have you tried turn off the antivirus ?

Check the task manager, there is a "critical error" dialog hidden behind the installer's main window.
