Well yeah, since the release, the Witcher 2 thinks i have 2GB of RAM, quotation:

System memory: 2047MB

In fact I'm using single 4GB module. Game's stuttering and unstable on fairly mid-end PC.

What do? Game does not see my RAM or does not care bout it?

And what do you see in your windows system information?

Anyway, the game uses around 1.6gb of memory at any given time. So even when the game detects your memory wrong it should have enough at its disposal for fluent gameplay.

Maybe your performance problems are caused by another bottleneck or by settings set too high. So you should add some more hardware informations and maybe a screenshot of your ingame settings (launcher settings) to the start post. ;)

I see the proper value in the sys information.

Phenom II X4, 3,2 GHz
Radeon HD6850
4GB RAM, Kingston's i suppose
Windows 7

I experimented with hell lot of configurations, game is sometimes more stable on higher than lower. PerformanceTester sez i should play on bollocks Low.

I'm havin' around 15-30 FPS in lower highs or higher mediums in my native resolution.

Indeed, that's too slow for that configuration. I have a slightly slower cpu, a slightly faster graphic card, 4gb memory (2x2gb) and win7 and I get around 35 to 60 fps on high, with some settings maxed out (like view distance).

Mhm...I suggest to test the memory. Just to make sure that the game is wrong and windows is right. I mean windows may detect the SPD-settings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_presence_detect) of the memory module while the actual memeory chips could still be damaged...

I suggest a run or two with "Memtest86". It's a bootable CD-/DVD-R or usb-stick. Just burn, insert, restart PC and leave it running for a few hours.
Windows 7 64bit? Because if it is a 32bit version you won't be able to use those 4 GB RAM you've got in your computer...

I've frequently had trouble with Kingston RAM in the past. I agree with GODzilla on running Memtest86.

You might also try to put the RAM in a different slot and see if that changes anything.

With 32Bit you can still access 3.2GB Ram. Way more than mentioned 2GB.
