Please help! this may look like a small problem in most countries, but in my country it is very serious to pay a lot of money for a 1MB internet.

I cannot launch the witcher 2 launcher offfline. It said "The witcher 2 launcher has stopped working"; however, I can only if my PC is connected to the internet.
Any idea how can I fix this since the internet in my country is very expensive, so i can't use internet all the time to play the game.

I have a retail version, though.

To reset the launcher run the patcher.exe from the game folder but try to launch directly with the witcher2.exe from the bin folder. It should bypass the launcher completely.

If your just trying to play the game, just goto the bin folder and run either the Configurator or witcher2 and u can play the game, if your wanting the DLC though, no clue =/

Thank you everyone. I think I have found the problem. The problem lies with my internet system. I have the kind of internet that requires "log in" in order to use it. So if I just unplug the internet line, I can play it offline. Nevertheless, if I just let the internet cable pluging in my PC, I won't be able to play it offline. CREEEEEPIEEE THAI INTERNET. - Yeah, I live in Thailand.

Sorry for the bad Enlish, I speak Thai, of course.

But they promised that you only need to be online ONCE to activate the game and then never again (except for downloading additional content of course).

So if you use a shortcut of "witcher2.exe", which you find in The Witcher 2\bin, you should be able to circumvent the launcher completely. I use this one as well, because the launcher should close anyway after starting the game, but it doesn't. That may be why it's a problem for you, because the launcher tries to connect all the time anyway, despite all promises. :(

Can also go to your network connections and just disable your local area connection to prevent it from connecting. easier then unplugging and plugging in your cable all the time unless its easy to get to..
