I hope this ini file fix works because I also cannot play without Inverted Y mouse.
This combined with the 16:10 issue is pretty bush league IMO.

eretharn: I´m trying to do it, but it doesn´t work! The only user.cgf that i find is inside bin/config folder. Is it that one??? I´m running desperate with this!
@eretharn. The file is located in the c:\Users\[yourname]\My Documents\Witcher 2\Config
directory and is named

user.ini,

not user.cfg.

It works and I've tested it for a few hours without *any* issues. It only affects the camera too.. so the menus & others stuff works as intented.

You are a star man!!! Thank you very much! Now It works! Thanks again!
Thank you, that worked a treat. I could not have played with the mouse like it was.
Many thanks for the inverted mouse help, it was pure torture without it. Unbelievable that no one in QA at CDProject mentioned that.

Kefaz: If you want to invert either the Y or the X axis for your gamepad, these are the lines you need to change in your user.ini file:

IK_Pad_RightAxisX=(GameKey="GI_AxisRightX",Value=1)
IK_Pad_RightAxisY=(GameKey="GI_AxisRightY",Value=1)

Change the values to -1 if you want the axis inverted.
Thank you sir!!

Yes, as I suspected and as is the case with most 3rd person hack'n'slash games, it play's much better with the controller - especially the combat.
hi. for all of you who couldn't change to the invert mouse by pasting:

MouseSensitivityX=0.261538
MouseSensitivityY=-0.163462

is probably because you edited the wrong user.ini file :P

so what you should do, is go into your documents/witcher2/config catalogue, open user.ini, and type:

replace

SensitivityX=0.5
SensitivityY=0.5

with:

MouseSensitivityX=0.261538
MouseSensitivityY=-0.163462

Oh, and if your mose reacts too late than change the Smoothness value to 0.

hope that helps, GL! :)

Pioneer161: I've looked in the config.ini, the game options and launcher options and no dice on inverted mouse... I don't really want to retrain myself; anyone else find a solution?
NO KIDDING...Inverted mouse PLEASE!! cant believe this...:(
Don't go to the GoG folder!

Make sure to edit the config file found here: C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\Witcher 2\Config

At least, that is the path on my Vista machine.
I just got word from CDP RED, they will address this in a hotfix patch in a matter of days. Treat this as an official statement on their part.
Awesome. Will use the temporary fix for now, and thanks for the quick notice!

PS. If you attempt to load a game from the main menu, you have to load a game. No back button nor does 'Esc' work. Just a heads up ;)

Thanks for the quick reply. Now THAT feels like a CDProjeckt answer :)

/cheers
Nice to hear they are patching that in quickly :). I had to use the MouseSensitivityY option to fix mine. I tried the Invert option first but it didn't work for me.

Thanks for letting us know. I couldn't make it work either with "Invert=1".

Export: Geralt is not an aeroplane. I know this is an incredibly unhelpful response, but why do people use inverted controls in non-flight sims anyway? It's just a bad habit to get into that can backfire, as in this case.
Uhm, because I use that config style in all of my FPSes and because there is no reason why a modern game should not include that option. That's why.

Whether or not you find it appropiate is irrelevant. There's no sensible reason to not include an option which is standard in all games. They messed up and will fix it. That's good enough for me.
