hey everyone

im currently having a problem during the kayran battle where nothing happens after i've filled up the qte bar which results in geralt just getting thrown off and all i can do is repeat the qte with the same thing happening.

anyone know what the problem could be?

[After you've been thrown off, and chopped enough tentacles off, the weakened bridge falls on the Kayran and it starts throwing rocks on you. Run to the left and up the bridge. There is then a finishing sequence.

the weakened bridge isn't falling on it, all that's happening is the qte event just repeating itself

help me the qte is impossible wont dissable either

anyone know how to fix this?

assuming the QTE executes properly and youve filled the bar while riding the tentacle...
as the tentacle starts to swipe down and across to the right you press space bar to jump off.

basically once youve filled the bar and it disappears keep spamming space bar until geralt jumps off the tentacle.

im assuming that it's not executing properly then as the bar doesnt disappear when it's filled up and acts like i've failed to fill it up

in that case all i can recommend is loading the save you have that's one back from the autosave before the battle, because it certainly sounds like youre experiencing a bug and winding it back a save or two sometimes fixes things like that.

beyond that all i can recommend is to lodge a support query :(

i've tried reloading a save that was before the fight but im still having no luck so it looks like it's a bug.

You don't need to press space... after completing the QTE mouse tapping it'll drop you...

The key part is to realise that the fallen arch results in a ramp that you can run up (from the left as you look at the creature) in order to reach the main body of it... do not try and approach it from 'the ground' where the tentacle is laying.

the arch isn't falling for me after doing the qte. all thats happening is the qte happening again as if i'd failed to do it

Same issue.
I can't just go on playing since this is a blocking encounter with a blocked scenario.
I can only hope this will someday be solved by a patch.

Edit : Ok, lowering resolution and puting all graphic options to minimum is working.
Besides, the combat is much easier without any kind of lag.
I now understand more why some people find it very easy when you know what to do.

i found that a reload solved this bug for me, had a few quests where QTE didnt execute properly and a reload sorted it out. kinda of annoying but didnt happen to often.

I have the exact same problem; whether I complete the QTE or not, The Witcher 2 sees it as a fail, and I get to do it endlessly. Going back a save does not help. Lowering the specs does not help. I doubt anything will help, unless another patch is released.
