Hi, I just started playing TW2 and I get extremely low framerates no matter what settings I use and I just about meet the recommended requirements.

My specs:
Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66 Ghz
3GB DDR2 RAM
HD 4850 512MB

The "auto-detect" sets the game to High Spec and I get 22 FPS in the starting area just outside the tent. After setting everything to Low Spec with everything disabled I only get about 25 FPS in that same area so I'm starting to think it might be my CPU causing this. Any thoughts?

Did you apply AMD ATi newest hotfix? Someone claimed he get high percentage of fps boost after applied that hotfix.

Performance problems with ATI/AMD graphics cards are fairly common at the moment. Try applying the latest hotfix-drivers (and look out for another one, AMD said they're going to release another hotfix especially for The Witcher 2 soon). If that doesn't help, try switching the game to windowed mode, for now.
