I'm such an idiot. Today I ran into voiceover problems (resolved) and in this process I started downloading the "English Voiceover DLC", despite the fact that I already have the english voiceoever files, they came as a standard with the GOG version.

Guess what happened...it ran into the "Error wiriting file...retrying in 10 seconds". So I looked around the forum and found the tipp to erase the entries in the registry. I did and that solved the problem...but now "Troll Trouble" is gone as well.

I'm currently in Act 1, having had the Troll Trouble perfectly installed since day one and now I'm stuck because I erased it. :(

Is there any solution, any way to install troll trouble manually? I don't want to pause until CDPR fixes the servers. I mean it took them days and will took them more probably. This is so frustrating. :(

Funny...after seeing that the DLC-file was still there I just went to the message board of Flotsam and the troll contract was available.

It seems that it doesn't matter whether a DLC is correctly installed, or registered, or authorized. The file simply has to be in the folder.

It makes we wonder if one couldn't just get all the preorder- and special shop DLC files, place them in the folder and use them. I mean, where is the sense in distributing so many different mini-DLCs yet not using a registration for these? Obviously everyone can use everything.

The logical step would be to release them to the public...

You might try checking your Documents\The Witcher 2\Downloads folder, the file for Troll Trouble DLC might still be there. You'll need to copy it to the game's CookedPC directory.

If this does not work, I'm afraid your only option now would be to go the semi-legal route of downloading it from an outside source.

Absolutely, and you certainly could do that. I hope they will eventually as I'd like to see the two extra finishers sometime.

Good to know! In fact this is exactly what I expected. The DLC don't have to be registered or authorized because this would add DRM to the GOG version.

Yes, one would think that this would add DRM, but GOG obviously does not.

See, they already argued that even PATCHES are something optional. So registering for patches is considered optional, since one can always choose not to install patches, playing the retail version 1.0.

Now what do you think they'd say about DLCs? Optional! So registering for them wouldn't count as DRM either, at least for the rather free interpretation of the GOG staff.

That's the only thing I feel a bit disappointed about...
