I was playing fine since released day. Suddenly, avast suddenly decides to go ape sh*t and block the .exe and starts calling it a trojan. So I mark the .exe as secure.

Then I noticed that the game can't launch. It just keeps looping back to the launcher window.
I've tried everything, disabling UAC, deleting the anti-virus, re-installing the game. Nothing works.

Is this a widespread problem? Will it be patched soon?

You are a sparse on your system? is it WinXP/Vista/Win7/Mem/CPU on DVD or downloaded from a site? if DVD remove & install again I had same trouble & found that CDPROJEKT severs were not working FOOL!!

Check the /bin/ in your install folder. Is the witcher2.exe there? If not, that sonuvabeetch avast has removed it.
