Xealot42: No save files involved with the cheat engine method. Just click on the computer icon in the upper left corner and open the witcher2.exe process. You will need to have cheat engine and the game running simultaneously (with your save loaded) and alt-tab between them.

zorphon: It's not finding the value when I do the search as First and Next. It simply isn't finding the value of my Orens... I know I'm putting in the right value, any ideas?
Well this is how I did it, First I typed in the amount of orens I had which at the time was 9946 and I hit New scan. Then I sold something to a blacksmith and typed in my new amount of 9970 and hit Next Scan and it found the address so I just had to double click it and change the Value. You have to make sure that Scan type is set for Exact Value and that Value type is set for 4 bytes.

I generally use Remote Desktop from a secondary PC and run cheatengine on that.
No need to task-swap.

You do need to patch your main PC to allow rdc concurrent connection without booting current user.

Google concurrent rdc connection windows 7 patch

zorphon: So do you use the process or your save file for this? I follow this but when I buy/sell something to change money value and enter the new one, hitting 'Next Scan' does nothing. It finds nothing.

What am I doing wrong? Is it the process or your save file? How exactly did you do it?

Thanks for that, using this method I imported the exact amount of money I gathered in the Witcher 1.

As Geralt kept his swords and armor but not my hard earned money!

Unacosamedarisa: I wouldn't mind knowing how to do this... But for the opposite. I'd like to subtract a large sum of Orens from my save. I brought a ridiculous sum with me in my imported save (~100,000), and I'd like get rid of it. Just now I'm playing as if I started with ~400 Orens, subtracting the 100,000 from the sum whenever I look in my inventory, not going into 'debt'... but I'd rather just clear it out. I know if I NEED to spend more than I 'have', I will... and the economy seems quite interesting (there is almost a need to spend some money), so I'd like to play it properly.
Wait I imported a save game from Witcher 1 with ~30,000 Orens and I started Witcher 2 with 400 Orens. What gives?

Same here - had around 12k in W1, got 400 in w2. Also, my steel sword did not transfer.
