It might. It's system dependent, really.

Dual core CPU systems see the biggest increase, 4 core systems seem to see about 7-10 FPS more, where as 6+ core systems barely see a difference at all

O boy, now let's think of all the games out there that have only the DRM version, nothing to compare it to, and they might ALL run a lot better... oh lordie... ;)

i bought the game from retail store with 50 bucks just like everyone else!!!!! I just want to get a better performance by downloading the gog fix.

most of us were smart and got the GOG version for $45.

so you paid $5 more for a non-drm version.

actually i paid 5 more for a DRM version and a nice box with paper copy of all the bouns items.

GOG, apparently is now allowing it.

so I suggest using google to get the files or perhaps asking GOG directly.

Did you put the exe into your Witcher folder? It won't work if you try to run it from your desktop or download folder for example.

This is also no guarantee of a performance increase. The people experiencing this likely have some form of compatibility problem with the DRM solution, so your results may vary.

You neeed to replace your old files with the new, then create shortcuts from the new.

thanks i tried that and it works fine. I didn't notice any signficant change in fps, probably because I already have a frame rate above 40fps...anyway its always nice to have higher fps

I think the retail version won't need the gog.exe file now since

Guys,

Good news. Patch 1.1 is soon to be released! Test are in progress.
Current ETA is Wednesday evening (Europe time)

Please expect major improvments:) and solution for most of the problems. Including:

- activation/installation problems
- better performance (owners of retail version will notice the biggest difference)
- no more DLC download/activation problems (Troll DLC will be INCLUDED in the patch itself, so
no need to download and install it)
- Nvidia 3D vision problem solved
- invert mouse and keyboard mapping

and many more:-)

To be sure that all people will have an access to this patch there will be option of manuall download and installation.

Sorry 4 all problems, we will work hard to be sure that eventually all of you will be fully satified!

PS. Once this patch is in the tests right now, we already have started working on the next one in which we want to solve some more issues, including hardware specific problems (ie. g35 compatibility). Patch 1.1 seems to be very major one, but still if you don't find your problem on the list, there is a big chance that it will fixed soon in next patch. And we will really do all this ASAP.
