I saw the minimum gfx card requirments for Witcher 2 was a Video Card with 512 MB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (Nvidia GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon HD3850). I have a 8800 GTS but its only 320 mb. Will I be able to play the game ?!The reason I ask, is that I saw a youtube video with a guy playing witcher 2 claiming to have the same card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF--olpFSqM
Please can someone give me a definitive answer so I don't waste my money tomorrow?
What about the processor how fast? and how much ram? and what OS? It all depends on those too not, the amount of vid ram you have is most likely not enough so I doubt you will be able to play it so you will probably need a new vid card. I used to have a GEFORCE 8800GTS and it just wasn't enough for almost any game even bioshock to make it simple the games ran like a complete piece of turd
BTW , I have a Radeon HD 4850 right now 512 MB's of ram (One of the cheaper graphic cards that is starting to age but it runs games really well)

My Pc's alright; its a core 2 quad @ 2,4 ghz with 2 gb of ram. I tend to play all new game quite reasonably too. Just usually disable shadows.

You will be able to play with some settings turned down. You should save up and get a GTX 460, you can get one for about $160 these days.

Great, thanks alot for the help. Guess I'l have to turn some stuff down, and upgrade my card one of these days... Cheers.
With the same type of system as mines (don't know how you have quad core and only 2.4 ghz and I have dual core with that type of speed) you should be able to play Witcher 2 on bare minimum meaning everything on low unless you upgrade your vid card to one with more memory and speed you won't be able to play it on better settings without it being super choppy. We're talking here of frame rate probable somewhere around 10 - 15 FPS

Yeah, I can easily overclock my cpu but haven't got around to it yet. As for the Witcher 2 performance... I'll be running its on a relatively low resolution, probably only turn on depth of field and anti-aliasing (if it doesnt cripple performance) and definitely turn the rest of the stuff off espically ssao. It looks like a really graphically stunning game even on the lower settings though.
you need to turn alot of stuff off, also make sure you can run the game reasonably smooth or you will have trouble with the QTEs
u have a good processor. Y dont also spend on graphics card like GTX 560 non ti or GTX 550.

I'm definetely going to get a new card one of these days. I'll have a look, they're not that expensive. For some reason no modern game has really taxed my machine but I guess this will be the one that forces me to upgrade.
I got the game, and I'm SO happy I did. It really plays well on my PC and looks brilliant. Most things are on low, but I'd never have guessed looking at the excellent graphics. Motion blur, depth of field, bloom, anti-aliasing all on and my frame rate cant be much less than 30, tho drops at certain set-pieces. Very, very pleased to have this amazing rpg. :D
