I'm really enjoying the game so far, but the swordplay is giving me some trouble. I've asked around about a particular problem that I've been having, but no one else has experienced this, so I thought I'd ask about it here
Basically, when I click an enemy to attack them, Geralt has been having a tendency to just take two steps towards them and then stand there doing nothing. This happens during just about every combat encounter. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm using a light attack, heavy attack, whether its the 1st, 2nd or 3rd attack in a combo, or whether I'm locked onto a target or not. It happens whether I'm mashing the attack buttons rapidly, or clicking in rhythm with his strikes. Doesn't matter if I'm holding a movement key or whether my hand is inches away from my keyboard. He'll just take two steps towards and enemy, stare at them, and usually get quickly killed as a result.
I'm trying to do a melee-focused playthrough without using Quen, but this issue has made trying it a bit frustrating. I really enjoy the game's combat system and the strategy involved, but when I can't rely on my attack button to actually attack something, things stop being so fun.
Has anyone else had this problem at all? Would switching to a gamepad give me better results?
edit: wow, bad grammar in the topic, should be 'geralt keep stopping mid-attack. whoops :|
