GODzillaGSPB: Indeed, dualcore users are affected. Should've mentioned this in the first post. ^^

I'm not sure, but I think that dual core CPUs are still the most common, aren't they?
antiques...that was last decade!! the game doesn't play on my abacus either!! But your right!! alot are playing games on their laptops with flash games and they think all games should run that way!!

You kidding, right? Core i5 processors are all dual core (+ht)...
Guys, are all of you serious?

I don't want to sound mean but you are asking for a patch to remove DRM from a game that's being released just a week ago?

Just because there are some evidence (that needs to be at least studied, and i'm not saying they are false) that point out:

1) The game takes 60secs instead of 10secs to start. THIS IS NORMAL and intended IMHO. The Game HAVE copy protection so it's normal that behaviour, there are checks and call that need to be done. It's justSecurom, that's not one of the Deadliest DRMs, and it implemented in a "Kindly" way.

2) The game with DRM lose FPS (10-40%) on some configuration. (And THIS, only this, could be a bug)

I think the situation is becoming a bit excessive.

Point "one" it's not an "issue".
Point "two" it's an issue but it's not a gamebreaker, so IT'S LICIT you ask for a patch that could FIX that memory leaks, implementation bug or whatever it is, but i think you could ask for nothing more.

You could not ask for discount, legal right to crack and further support cracking the game.
(The problem is not if in your country it's legal or not the backup copy, the problem it's you are asking explicit support for this!)

I am NOT a paladin of the law. I have OFTEN used a fixed exe because i dislike inserting the cd/dvd for the cdcheck and so on, but i NEVER ask support for this. It's a personal choice.

The Witcher 2 without DRM at that price with that bonus WAS AN OFFER!
You could NOT complain an offer! If you like or it's convenient you buy it. Stop.

I want to told you one last thing...
Since i remember, IT'S THE FIRST TIME That a company sold a version of his triple A game at day one WITHOUT any king of protection. We MUST just thank this guys for this.
Sure, we have the RIGHTS TO HAVE THING FIXED AND SUPPORT, but we could use a bit og patience while they fix bugs and release patches...
did you ever wake up to an epiphany ?

mine was this...

which version is being pirated ?

version with DRM
version without DRM

now if nobody needs to hack crack or back n sack wax the dvd version because the gog version has no drm?...why the hell bother DRM,ing it ?

i am still half asleep,so if i got this wrong please explain.

Am I really that old to remember a lot of very good games released without DRM?

In my mind there is something wrong when pirates get better product than paying customers. I think DRM crossed the line when games started to require DVD in a drive. Anything further is just a slippery slope.

I think people complaining about DRM it's a good thing. It will help GOG (which is based on anti-DRM mindset) and it will help to restore sanity to game market.

I know it seems very strange, but the version getting pirated the most is the Retail one, the one with DRM... XD

I think because publisher are ancient, archaic, dinosaurs and just say:

"We want protection 'cause we invest in it and it's our right to have. Our analyst say we have to protect them and we believe them"

Is it useless?
In my opinion, yes. But it's a publisher's choiche to pay Securom and it's implementation

i agree that theory works on some levels, but not in this case, they knew the GoG would be DRM free,so putting DRM on the dvd version is pointless...

UNLESS of course someone at the publishers stands to gain from doing it,could it be a brown envelope scheme between publisher and securom people ?
I mean DRM from securom isnt free, someone has to pay for it,so why would someone pay if you know its going to be a pointless sale...

Nope, that's not true ... just do a quick research and get enlightment! ;)

Why not?

Since there's a DRM-free version available right on release day - and you can bet your boots it's available from non-legit channels - what, exactly, is the purpose of the DRM at this point? It's reported (by CDPR) purpose was to prevent pre-release day piracy. Since that day has now long since passed, the purpose for the DRM has been fulfilled. So why even have it anymore, especially when it's been acknowledged that it's causing issues to many customers?

So how is it unreasonable to ask for it to be removed already? It's accomplishing exactly nothing at this point.

Lot of Triple A games sold at day one without drm? I don't remember, howewer you know that the "normality" in the last years is DRM, DRM and more DRM (Ubisoft for example...)

I TOTALLY agree with you. But it's not good complaining about DRM WITH GOG (that sold DRM-free games), pretending them to "free" other publishers versions. They (as CDprojekt RED, not as GOG) have just to look in the issue and, if the case contact WHO implemented Securom and created that performance problem and FIX it, possibly as fast they can.

Some i5s are quad core and some are dual core. Yours is a Lynnfield, which is quad core.

I was talking about the laptop ones, being that I was answering to the guy talking about playing the game on a laptop...
