I don't like the way the card game is implemented in The Witcher 2..... I really wish they had kept it similar to the way it was done in the first game...... In this instance more automation is needed.....either the dice fly off the board and you lose ...... or you just drop em on the board and you can't see what you have rolled............. I would rather push a button and they roll right every time.

If you think the roman numeral design is dumb (like I do), there is a dice mod that replaces the textures with the old ones from the first game.

Should be in the sticky at the top of the forum.
My only issue is having to hear the same old startup conversation and selecting the same old menu options each time :(

It'd be nice if they coded in a bit of familiarity at least - get the full deal the first time you speak then get more brief and to the point in gradients after that.

Or maybe let us right-click to play the mini-games and left-click for chats.
I agree with you there!

Now this is just an annoyance not a gripe or complaint to me but I hate the way the numbers are represented on the dice. First of all it is way too small for my "old" eyes to make out plus I can't for the love of me see what the other player has (again too small) plus I can't figure out how to raise after the first dice toll. I mean the NPC can raise but can't figure out how to raise unless I can't see it for the trees in the forest!

And yea I have lost many games due to my dice rolling off the Board and not counting but have yet to see it happen to NPCs.
I assumed Geralt had developed a nervous tick given how often I throw my dice in the other players' faces. Maybe if you do it twice in a row it could start up the fistfight minigame?
Didn't like it in the first game either. Would prefer something with a bit more of a player skill component, rather than dumb luck and loaded dice.

Now they've simply buried it behind an inferior interface to boot.
+1 on the bloody dice rolling out of the tray, that is just...annoying lol
i would prefer a better viewing angle 2 like in TW1 it's nearly impossible to see and pulls you out of the immersion big time, still love that they kept it in tho
I loved the dice game in The Witcher 1. I would not want to play it all day, but for a little gambling minigame in an RPG it felt perfect.

The Witcher 2 version of it is horrible. The camera randomly moves around instead of following the mouse. You have to manually roll the dice, and it is better to just drop them so they don't get lost. It no longer tells you what you or the opponent have, and the dice are harder to make out. No more round information, or even rounds at all it seems.

So the result: It is a pain to play and not fun at all, and they even made everything look worse right down to the rolling of the dice.
Another +1. This is a classic example of fixing something that ain't broke and breaking it in the process. The viewing angle is ridiculous (how could this have EVER been acceptable in dev or testing???), the "dice off the box" mechanic is frustrating (at least it applies both ways -- NPC's roll off the box sometimes as well), the dice graphics don't work, and jumping out of the dice game after each round rather than having some quicker way to "roll another round?" is an obvious oversight.
