I notice that there are a few posts, some with the title why I hate this game are a little harsh imo.

I love this game and I really appreciate all the trouble you went to to craft such a work of art for the fans, there are sooo many things I love about this game but if I was to list them all and describe what I love about them it would take forever so I would just like to mention quickly some points that have maybe made your attention but that would improve the game experience.

1) There should be no need to cart a receipe that actually has weight around with you. At the moment its very counter intuitve as once geralt reads a monster book he knows how to defeat it and the information is stored near the attributes area you do not NEED the book so then why need the receipe?

Solution:
Learn receipes after reading them once, then they are used and disapear from the inventory. In this way alchemy receipes are visible once learned in the alchemy window, also crafting receipes can be visible when you are taking to crafters. I think that solves the problem of making a seperate screen to view crafting receipes if that is a problem.

2) Storage boxes, as an alchemist in this game the weight of monster parts is massive, I know if you want more you can go kill more monsters, but if you have already killed them why force the player to sell them just to mitigate burden? Its just very frustrating at the moment as you have to keep micromanaging your weight, its so much easier to just be able to put them in a storage space and collect them later when needed which leaves the player free to get on with the questing, Its also really only for alchemy/crafting ingredients as weapons/armour/books are usless and sold asap once an upgrade is available

Solution:
Well the obvious one is the inn like in the previous game but there must have been a reason that did not happen so maybe a post box in each town, maybe triss makes a teleportaion bag that geralt can use to place items in that is always available to him, as the bag has a constant portal focus on a chest in Kar Moren.

3) Looting defeated enemies/harvesting monster parts is frustrating because it is really hard to find the bodies of your killed foes, at the moment I actually kill something and then stay still so that I dont have to search for it. This is a mar on the enjoyment and immersion.

Solution:
Make the bodies like the flowers so they emit a gowing red spore stream that signals the target sensitive area.

I have watched soo many times videos/interviews.confrences/chats/trailers about this game that is why I can say with certainty that when you work closely with something for a long time you do not see the flaws that otherwise would be no probem to notice. As the lead developer made that same comment himself when discussing the look of Geralt.

This post is only here to provide some feedback on an amazing game and hopefully to give the developers a different point of view.

Thank you so much for this work of art!!!

Regards to all

I found the same with the monster parts, well all of it really, however if you hit the z key your medallion will send out a pulse lighting up anything near that is interesting

hope this helps
Yah if you hit Z it should send out a pulse that highlights loot on the ground as well. I completely agree about the potions things. Makes no sense that geralt essentially memorized all this other information but can't memorize a formula. I think the developers commented on the storage box thing at one point, saying that it was done that way to prevent hoarding. They want your inventory to be dynamic, i.e. make potions and actually use them, as opposed to always saving them for that "next tough encounter" that will probably never come. I understand where you're coming from but its not a huge deal to me. Just prevents me from worrying about hoarding, which I would normally do in a game with storage chests....even though hoarding is really stupid and I know it lol
I think inventory should be like Gothic and Risen, infinite. Yeah, it maybe cheap/lame and whatnot but I don't like babysitting my inventory everytime I pick something up because I am overloaded.

I would like to be able to skip ALL cutscenes not just major ones. Cutscenes become a major burden when replaying a game or playing the game on a harder difficulty. Most people don't want to see the same cut scene over and over again each time they die.

Remove the need to meditate to use potions. I don't mind the limitation of enemies must not be present but it adds nothing to the game to go through this lengthy process of meditating just to use a potion.

Door walk animation. I know its there probably for future weaker system implementation but its annoying and create unnecessary delays and may lead to death because you can't opt out once it starts.

Allow gamers to see the ingredients needed for a craft. Sitting and patiently waiting for the details to scroll just to see what you need is annoying.

Doors that are open should not become invisible walls because enemies are present.

When in you are not in combat mode and you cast sign you should switch to combat mode and cast the sign. At the moment you only go into combat mode and don't cast the sign. In addition, Geralt should draw his weapon automatically when he is in danger. Many times I am being attacked an he refuses to draw his sword automatically.

Get rid of mandatory walking that is found in Gears of War. Don't force gamers to walk its annoying.

Thats all for now.

this.

4) probably mentioned a million times, but indicating which diagrams/books have already been studied..... silly omission which results in having to dig through the entire set every time you encounter a new vendor...

5) not a biggie, but dice poker - the mini game is more an exercise in masochism than actual chance... when you're playing against opponents who can magically pull a re-roll of 4/5 of a kind out of the hat in order to beat you because you're "still learning" is not only frustrating, it destroys any semblance of immersion... especially when it happens 2 or 3 times in a row.... :/

6) QTE... this approach virtually guarantees that you i) remove all skill benefits, ii) must replay the same staged battle multiple times in order to memorise the necessary sequence of keys in order to progress... it adds nothing and removes everything from the RP side of the game... (I get that console gamers tend to be more passive in their habits, what with auto-aim and gaming on rails, but given the near perfection achieved in virtually every other aspect of the game, this design choice is the one which irritates most)

aside from this, and the puerile testosterone-victim assuaging nudity, the game is a brilliant piece of work which I find thoroughly enjoyable. :)
Actually you don't need to keep the receipes. You can sell them and are still able to create the items. I sold all my receipes and they are till in my journal.

BUT: There is no way to find out at a vendor if you already know a receipe. The first game showed something like "You have already read this". Why not also in Witcher 2?
I have got thro' witcher 1 without much hassle I loved how everything worked with mouse, now starting on witcher 2 I was disapointed having to go back to WSAD config my view if it works don't fix it I can't seem to change the game controls to where I personally would like however there is a patch 1-1 coming shortly which I understand will resolve various faults apart from that all went well installing the game no probs I understand quite a few gamers have had activation probs & all sorts of faults. Can get annoying when you pay good money I have that in the past with games, When you take it back OOh! nothing to do with us mate contact the distrbutor mate some hope!!
