So I just got my CE by mail. The nose on Geralt's bust is chipped and the ponytail broke off, the black plastic container which holds the stuff is almost disintegrated. Half the price of a decent graphic card down the drain...

EDIT
below I have attached a pic of what the mailman brought me this morning, if anybody is curious ;)

Mine is the same. That bust look like it's made with chalk powder...I'm sure I can use it to write thing on a blackboard.
exact same situation here...

So if it's busted (pun not intended) you return it from where you bought it.

My friend, my experience with such issues is that if they ship you a replacement the item will arrive in the exact same condition as the original, since the problem is poor packaging (I'll go as far as to say that the people who designed the box musn't possess a particularly high IQ. How the hell do you get the idea to put a heavy chalk bust in a brittle plastic container with no padding or bubblewrap whatsoever?) But your point is valid and I'm considering complaining with The Hut. Those 100 euros I spent for the CE would come handy when the bill for my new PC (which I ordered exclusively to be able to play TW2) arrives.

EDIT
Must check how much sending 3,5 kg of stuff by mail to the UK will cost me. It may not be worth the expense and in that case I'm abused by a screwdriver :(

I agree that as far as bust goes, it could have been packed better. It was clearly moving around when I got mine. Luckily my Geralt only had few minor scratches.
Same here too.. Scuffed from one side, though at least the pony tail didn't come off. However, not worth sending it back to The Hut due to the shipping costs.. :-/
My box was desintegrating also, all the papers and stuff were covered by black powder. Not a big deal but this was suprising to say the least. I do hope this is not toxic because I must have breathe some. ^^

No scratches on my Geralt tho.

This is an excellent collector, too bad they didn't pack it better (I don't mind a few extra bucks of safety when it comes to that price).
Same here.

Bust has scratches, and the inbox has white powder in it (part of bust)
oh yeah.... black powder ... mine was full with that too... clearly a case of bad judgment when it comes to packaging...
Where did you guys get your CE? If it was Amazon.com, you could send them a message. I ordered the collector's edition of Schindler's List some years back, shipped it to Singapore where I reside. When I received it, found the acrylic case cracked in several places, some parts even broken off. I did a search on the internet and it was apparently a widespread issue, some people even encountered the same issue in retail stores.

I wrote in to Amazon, telling them of the issue and my findings. (I think I offered to send photos too) To my surprise, they offered to re-send a new package to me, and I didn't even have to return the broken one since postage will be overly costly (Amazon sometimes pays for postage on returns, depending on reason).

In the end, I did receive a new package, it too was slightly cracked (as mentioned by others above, sometimes it's the product's sub-standard packaging at fault) but at least it was better than the original.

Quite happy with the services at Amazon.
I just got my collector's edition yesterday and the nose was also a little bit chipped. There were also these strange markings and scuffs that really took away from the whole unveiling. Also, i don't know if there is a difference between the NA and EU version of the collector's edition. Does anyone have any idea?

As far as packaging goes.................yea. Really safe to put it in a box with just two or three pieces of bubble wrap around it.

I don't know, for this much money i expected better. oh well, i still love it though. I just wish it was in better condition.
Unfortunately Amazon is a completely different thing, at The Hut, where I preordered the CE there's no Customer Service email adress available to the public and their messaging sistem is buggy and poorly thought out. It looks like they're doing everything they can to avoid any post sale contact with their customers. I managed to send them a message though. Shipping the stuff back costs around 25 euros which I'm not sure I will have refunded, gotta check the Terms and Conditions.

It's the same, only in Poland the CE is individually numbered - 10000 copies.
