How do you fist fight in this game? I am stuck where you have to save Dandelion from hanging. I have tried the keyboard and my game pad. I press the key or button it tells you to press. I lose everytime. When I press the key or button nothing happens I get the tar beat out of me. Help!!!!

Try Options->Gameplay-> uncheck Difficult QTE to turn the Quick Time Event easier.
I, too, have a problem with saving Dandelion - I'm getting my ass whooped every time. I'm using keyboard and mouse. I've unclicked: Difficult QTE - I still get my ass whooped. I've tried holding down the right click and releasing for a left click - no apparent success. I've tried using the letters that pop up throughout the fight - no apparent success. Help me win the damned fist fight
Just press the letters. Right click/left click are irrelevant...
A very important thing to realize is that where the buttons appear it corresponds to the keys.

W wil be the top, S at the bottom, A to the elft and D tot he right.

Once you get this down, it's super easy to hit the key simply by seeing it's location pop up, you don't need to read the letter or anything.

tried this several times with no luck. I use the proper letters, but still get whooped

When the QTE comes up you should just press the button and release. Don't hold the button or tap it multiple times.

Also, forget trying to read the button letters. They always come up in the same layout as on the keyboard (W is high center, S is low center, A is left, D is right), so just react to where the QTE comes up on the screen. It's probably best not to even watch the fight, but simply stay focused on the center of the screen and react to the QTE's. With (very) little practice, you should be able to win fights without taking a single hit.
I found that the "trick" to fighting is to turn off Difficult QTE's and sit back from the monitor - looking at the "background" rather than on your character or your opponent. Makes it much easier to see the W, S, A or D when they popup on screen. Don't forget that they popup in the same places each time - A on the left side, W at the top, D to the right and S at the bottom.

Damn, Benhurt... you aced me. ;)

Took me several tries and then after getting past the guard, fond I had to do the hangman too and my ass wipped again. Doesn't give you a save after beating the guard either, so had to start at square one. Actually got through it that time. Don't let yourself get frusrated, or you'll beat yourself every time. Now if I could only get the arm wrestling down. : )

Thanks, that really helped- now onward and upward
I noticed something strange on my three plays of the prologue - turning "Difficult QTEs" off actually seemed to make fistfights more difficult (there seemed to be less time for every keypress). With difficult QTEs turned on, I feel I have around a second for reaction, with it turned off it felt like only half that.

Anyone else seeing this?
yep, me!

By doing so, the letters were far better to react to and after 20 failures and a lot of nasty words, now it was a breeze and I kicked their arses.

Thanks Pal!

greetz from Holland, I'm now deserving some coffee....

i'm confused on these qte's i see so many bitch about

1. the fist fights. easy as pie as soon as you realize the W is top, E is right, ect. don't even need to read, just react according to periphial. can actual enjoy wathcing fight too

2. the dragon. I just RAN, not once did i hide or click away. the dragon never hit me and i just kept running ahead of him, while carrying king

3. the clicking of the catapult. again, just clicked left click till done and then fought enemies, rinse and repeat.

NOT once did i fail, wel li think the guy got one punch in on me early in the fighting game when i didn't know what the QTE's were going to be
I had the same problem with fist fighting - could never seem to win. I use a PC and keyboard to play the game. I have found a solution. I disabled VSync and UberSampling in the configuration menu and it is now much easier to win at fist fighting. The letters display for longer and you have more time to hit the right key.
Strange. I have "Difficult QTEs" enabled and I have never ever lost even a single fist fight (I wasn't even hit once). Maybe it's because I played with gamepad?
