So I finally got my new computer and downloaded the witcher 2 (I got it from D2D not GoG), and after I enter my activation key, it starts downloading the 28 mb patch. The problem is once the patch is downloaded it says "Verifying: Patch_DD.exe..." stays on that for a couple of seconds, then restarts the patch download. Then it just keeps going in a loop of downloading the patch, verifying for a couple of seconds, then downloading again.

I'm running in administrator mode, windows 7, UAC off, firewall off, so I don't know what could be wrong. I guess a reinstall is my next step?

I'm really at a loss because I can't seem to find anyone else having this problem, I've read almost all the tech issue FAQ's around and still nothing.

Thanks

PS- I know I didn't buy the game from here but as their are no official forums I thought someone may be able to help hear.

I'm not sure how to make the launcher successfully verify the patch - I had the same problem with Troll Trouble and somehow after a few times it worked.

However, the patch can also be downloaded as a stand-alone .exe file - go to http://en.thewitcher.com/community/entry/20/ and you'll probably want the first one.

You might also want to clear the launcher's download settings as described in http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/polish_voiceovers_w_english_subtitles/post89 (though it should happen automatically after a patch).
