*Somewhat spoilers from Chapter 1 ahead*

I fought the kingslayer for the first time, had a hell of a time, barely scratched him because I was too busy keeping my quen up trying not to get damaged. Died pretty quickly. Second time, I equipped a shitload of daggers, and just spammed his ass with them. Took like 5 daggers and a couple of strong hits and he was down. Daggers were just owning him. Is it like this through the whole game? Daggers solve all the world's worries?

They do a buttload of damage, but they're pricy for day to day use.

I think their power was supposed to be offset by price, but I don't think price is ever an offset for a determined rpg gamer. ;p

I simply never use them. No one is forcing you to cheese the system. :)

They are heavy to carry around in great quantities. And while I also cheesed Letho with them (which I dont apologize for, because Letho is kind of cheesy himself), I never found them quite as useful ever again in other boss battles. Other Bosses seemed to have better answers for them. They seem sort of pointless to use in mundane battles.

I only used them in the mini-game against Vess. Which unlocks a throwing knife buff that I don't put to use...

Now that throwing knife game should have been as ubiquitous as arm wrestling. The latter is just way too easy.

Vs. single targets especially ones that hit hard in melee, yes they're pretty OP. Partly because no aim is required though.

Bombs are probably stronger though, as they're more available and do an AoE. Grapeshot spam w/2 points in one of the first alchemy talents will wreck things.

Having 40 grapeshot bombs solved most of the bosses problem.... Letho, Draug, Earth Elemental and even Dragon die in less than a minute.... :-)

Why would you even buy them?

Find a recipe and craft your own. They're dirt cheap when you craft them... :P
