mastorofpuppetz: Im trolling because I disagree with your PC elitest Whining? LMAO, again, barely anyone is making PC only games Cd project is still making games centered around PC, yet your complaining its a console port, yet no console version even exists? Might want to look in the mirror before calling others a troll.

Doesnt even make sense, if it was a console port it would not be released way before on PC. it doesnt work that way.

gamepads on PC games is as old as PC gaming, GASP. Doesnt make a game a console port, thats the beauty of PC gaming, its versatile. Shouldn't you know that ole PC exalted one?

ArnoldJ.Rimmer: nope..you are actually trolling for some wierd reason i dont understand,

as you clearly to this point still have not read what i and others typed,

you made yourself evident as a troll because if you do actually read it all,its evident there WAS NO WHINING,and nobody said its a console port, because everyone else but you apparently, knows it was developed as a pc game with a few parts made "console friendly" just in case of a pc to console port.

so yes,you are a troll, sorry but if you act and quack like a dick...i mean duck, people will se you as a duck ;)

you leapt in frothing and ranting without reading anything...a troll
Can you read, a few people in this thread, hell, even the title says another game RUINED by consoles. LMAO, troll harder.

ArxRocks: No but QT events and "pits of death" do.
HUH, they are only a small portion of the game, harder effects what is a great, deep rpg.

But these pits of death can be found in the prologue and the combat levels down to skill sometimes. If anything, it's an action RPG when it comes to combat. Quests and the story are handled in a better way but I disliked the combat in The Witcher just as I dislike the combat in The Witcher 2 which seems more actiony RPG than the original.

Not really, it's only a small part of the game and most of the QT's can be disabled. The game has a deep RPG system which we are used to on pc's. The game is far harder then most console top titles, take a look at that youtube video which a player complains that the game sucks but instead of using tactics he treats the game as if it's Assassins Creed.

The game also uses some of the best graphics which can't be seen on a console and no repeated areas, take a look at DA2 if you want to see a consolized game. Ofcourse there are issues, like targeting and the menu's, but overal they are minor and have nothing to do with consolized.
Maybe what happens is that combat is less tactical and more technical.

The first game let you fight on third person or on some kind of isometric. Now you only can use the semi over the shoulder perspective.

It's not an action RPG even. More of an action game with RPG elements. Hey, I'm talking about the combat here. The story, choices, evolution of the world is great.

I don't like too much the combat style, too many rollings and the limited blocking, parring. It's more a personal taste. But maybe is because I'm just starting.

Let's see how the patch works.
Quite frankly I don't give a damn if it was consoles or just poor design decisions that made for some of the issues with TW2. IT DOESN'T MATTER.

All that matters is whether or not they take community feedback and fix several of the more bothersome issues. I think they will, considering what they did with TW1.

Quoted for high amounts of truth.
As long as they don't turn the combat to be turn based i like the more Realtime fast paced react quickly or your dead kind of combat. I also really love how they seems inspired by Demons Souls. in terms of being unforgiving. I really like how the game actually forces you to learn how to play it by dying because this game next time you play that part you be much better to play it.
For instance when i replayed Prologue i died only 1 time compared to the 200 times i died when i tried it at the first start ^^. So i must say its a great Prologue maybe it doesn't work as a tutorial level they should probably have done something like area you can choose to play beside the main game so your able to learn the game in a more safe and relaxing environment. But i just have to say that this games feels even greater when replaying because you learned all the your mistakes the hard way. So yeah i personally prefer this game over TW1 in combat a lot its a great game and while you can cheat yourself out like bombing your enemies or throwing darts and using Quen all the time well if they can somehow rebalance that i be extremely happy.
only a fanboy believes it was 100% PC. The reality of it is they could probably port this to consoles tomorrow because of how consolized it is. If you want a example of a game built entirely for PCs, just look at TW1, theres nothing console about it, in fact Im sure no one has ever ported the Aurora engine to consoles since it would very difficult.

That being said, I do believe CDPR will fix all these problems, their support of the community has been incredible.

it was never turned based what the hell are you talking about
True it wasn't but it felt quite turnbased to me the way it played having to wait to be able to hit again, i know it was more about Timing your attacks and or like just having the rhythm but i i must say i prefer much more the way the combat is now what i do feel could be interesting would be to add the different Styles to the Witcher 2 combat system that could be very interesting.

you never had to wait to hit again...

you constantly could sting attacks to a chain up to 5 move sets. the only waiting you had was to do the next move, which you do in W2 also.
Yes, I agree with the statement of the thread. That, or whoever designed the ui is a total retard (especially considering tw1 ui was perfect and already done).
I'll not mention the lack of keybinding on the release, because they should be ashamed of themselves already

ahh you did had to wait, not like the game was telling you to wait but you waited on your cursor to show a sword with fire on to get a combo going. When i am playing the first Witcher i definately have this feeling that the combat is a bit like a turn based game althrough i guess you could at all times skip the combo system and use magics and bombs. I definately prefer the combat system in the sequal. though i just have to say that.

you still have to wait the same way in witcher 2.

mastorofpuppetz: This is pathetic, PC gamers are the whiniest bunch I have ever seen. every game no matter if its true or not gets labelled as a CONSOLE game, there is not even a console version of this game yet. This is one of the most PC centric games tha has been released in many years, i swear some of you will complain a game is terrrible if the font is not PC enough, get a life and enjoy this amazing game and rare breed, a PC RPG clearly designed for PC. Nothing about this game is anything like a console game, how many console games have you played? They are notr like this game I can tell you that.
Edit: after reading some more of this thread you are right. Some of the posters here are the whiniest bunch of pc gamers. This is sad.

Naw, it's just cloud8521. Most people I've talked to agree. Witcher 2 is uncompromised and defnitely is an example of what PC Gaming can be. We do agree some of the control mechanisms seem to be console/controller friendly.

But the graphics, the combat, the quests, the plot, it's all without compromises I think. cloud8521 just needs something to complain about since because if he doesn't like it, then it's consolitis.
