I'm curious what the "meet a famous character" dialogue option gives you, if you pick that wish from the noble djinni you find at the docks (melvaunt: shipyards area).

Does anyone know?

I've wondered about that as well but sadly I don't have the answer. I hope it isn't just the author "Alazander" himself who can be found in the inn at the docks no matter which wish you pick ... ;)

Incidentally, sorry for derailing the thread, but did you find out what's up with those tracks at the Melvaunt docks near the stairs that point to a "house ahead" and look like they were made by undead? The only open house I could find approximately in that direction just had a live woman in it, with a short conversation that didn't really lead to anything ...

If I remember right: they refer to the Keep (Lyressa's -- sp? - "master")

That's Thentia, I mean the ones in Melvaunt.

Sorry...
Just went back to Malvaunt; couldn't find any tracks anywhere in the docks, though there were smudges on the ground by the stairs. I do recall (somewhat) that I wondered why I didn't run into any undead other than in one of the warehouses, which are closer to the water.

The tracks I meant are by the stairs, too, but by the second ones, a bit more to the south. The smudge is by the northern stairs, the tracks are by the southern ones. But they don't point to anything discernible, even though the text mentions a house. I'm not sure if I've overlooked something or whether they are just placed imprecisely (the tracks in Thentia are placed somewhat carelessly as well, they actually lead away from the place they're supposed to lead to, if you look at them closely). I don't quite remember, but if there was an encounter with undeads in one of the warehouses, there's a chance that's what the the tracks refer to (they do mention it's a powerful undead though).

Went through Melvaunt again, and again I only remember encountering undead in a warehouse (I think it was the uppermost one in the northwest corner. Upon entering it, the text calls it "a suspicious warehouse")

Sorry I'm not much help.

It's not Alazander. I thought that too at first, but the dukes adventuring party is part of the main quest. They give you clues/map location of Maganus in the ogre fortress.

Haven't found any undead yet. I thought it was in the warehouse where you find a note about it being haunted. But haven't seen any undead in the area.

The house with the noble woman i thought had some quest to it (thought apparently not, as far i have seen?).. you can find her husband in the loviatar temple, but every time i try speak with him he says he is busy at the moment and won't talk.

I still don't know who the famous character is, but as for the other two ...

*SPOILERS*

- IIRC, you need to spend the "night" (aka rest) in the haunted warehouse for the undead to appear. If the footprints refer to this event, they are placed really confusingly though.

- The wife is indeed related to a quest. At some point you will need something from the husband, and you can learn about his secret desires from someone in the Loviatar temple and blackmail him by threatening to tell his wife (or maybe even do it for real). It's optional though, there are other solutions to this quest, and personally I opted against it, because I thought it was rather low, regardless of the husband being a dick, you just don't do that, not even to your worst enemy. ;D

Yeah, i just finished the module... and still haven't found the famous npc. I have no clue where to even go look for them,.

- Ah, i totally missed you could rest in that warehouse so never thought to try that. :D And yeah, the trackings seem really misplaced if that is the undead they mean.(wasn't even that strong. Died to one firebrand spell)

-I guess its a solution to the pirate fleet blockade?

-
I alos finished it yesterday, and wrote a wall of text. :D What did you think about it? I wasn't quite sure myself.

No, IIRC the husband was the slave trader and it was connected to the quest to free Elf?

I loved it. :) Honestly think it is one of the best modules i have played.

oooh, yeah that makes sense. I never killed the last pirate so always asked them for help for that quest. :D

Well-written piece, and I agree with virtually every point made. I also imported my character from the earlier modules and the only battle I had problems with was the demilich. Unfortunately, I haven't finished the game because my PC refuses to mount his horse, and the game isn't addictive enough for me to restart. I did believe the earlier modules (on NWNVault) are much better and bug free.
