I bought NWN2 Complete here on GOG. I am trying to play with my sister who has the original game, ya know, the one that was released by Obsidian and came in CD form? But there is a mismatch with our versions.

Please tell me there is a way to play multiplayer NWN2 using GOG's version and play with people who are using the non-GOG version. I'm guessing that GOG started with Obsidian's final (patched) version of NWN2 when they created the GOG one, but non-GOG NWN2 players can't patch with the GOG patch.

The old-school game version is 1.020 (1541)
The GOG game version is 1.023 (1765)

The GOG game version is 1.023 (1765)
Patch 1.023 is an Obsidian patch; your friend doesn't have the most up-to-date version.

The GOG patch shouldn't affect compatibility with other releases of the game, nor change NWN2's internal version number. It removes DRM (which accidentally got included in the first GOG release) from the Mysteries of Westgate campaign, so it's strictly a fix to the GOG release.
